WHO TAKES CARE OF THE FIELDS @ ARROYO GRANDE?

Yesterday, Wednesday October 1st, our team played at Arroyo Grande park in Henderson, Nevada.

From the first game in the morning and for the rest of the day there was NO FIELD MAINTENANCE what so ever!

By the time we played our second game in the afternoon, the dugouts were dirty, base paths were well worn, the infield pitted and rough and so was the pitchers and batters boxes.

Other than some directors, NO FIELD STAFF OR SERVICE WORKERS COULD BE FOUND!

There was nobody seen working with brooms, rakes or any kind of field equipment to smooth out the fields!

NICE FIELDS, BUT REALLY POOR BETWEEN GAME FIELD SERVICE!

City of Henderson is the wrong answer. SS-USA and the field director are responsible for having the fields maintained. Even our local Sunday league tournament in December has people prepping the field during the day!

The "City of Henderson" is the correct answer to who is doing the actual work ... It is the sole responsibility of LVSSA/SSUSA to ensure that happens ... Our apologies, we did not intend to pass the buck in any way ... It's on us 100% ...

I also want to complain about the lack of toilets in the restroom for men. The field had only one for all the players which is crazy considering the number of guys out there. I told the Tournament Directors to get a Port-a-Let but nothing happened. We paid a lot of money for poorly maintained infields, lousy restroom facilties and bad food.

Just the opposite problem at the Shadow Rock fields. Staff did a good job of maintaining the infields, batter's boxes, etc. Food was good and restrooms were okay. However, the grass outfields were terrible. More weeds than grass. The grass was supposed to be the foul line in the outfield but the grass has not been maintained in a straight line so only line of sight could be used. The turf fields were great but the grass fields were bad. Not championship fields. Would suggest they turf the two fields with grass.

I played at Arroyo Grande the fields where in very good shape mon. thru Thursday the crews worked on the fields some what but overall I thought the fields looked good. one fact though is there was just one commode and two urinals and that caused quite a line.
