Tournament fields in Ft. Myers
We have been coming to Ft. Myers for several years and the last 3 years playing at Lee County in 2011 the in Cape Coral Complex 2012 and Northwest Cape Coral in 2013, We were told we would be back at Lee County in Nov.2014. Well it looks like we will have to travel 45 minutes again to get to the games at the Northwest Cape Coral complex. What gives. I know we should be happy that we are in Florida, but what is wrong with the continued rotation.

We're not sure who might have told you specifically where your age group would be playing prior to the release of the TENTATIVE Field Assignments, but they were not authorized to do so (and that includes Home Office Staff personnel) ...

An unexpected factor in this year's assignments was the late release of the names of the inductees into the Senior Softball Hall of Fame ... In prior years, those individuals to be honored have generally chosen to have their ceremonies at either the SPA Worlds in Dalton or the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters in Las Vegas ... This year, there was not time to make those arrangements for many of the inductees ... Accordingly, some of them are being honored in Ft. Myers and some in Phoenix next month ... One of the inductees in Florida is a 65-Major player and, with the ceremonies being held at Lee County Sports Complex, we assigned that division to that location ...

The rest of the age and division allocations to various facilities are based on the entry counts and the best utilization of the facilities to match the size of the brackets ... Good luck in Florida! ...
