Dec. 1, 2014 UMBACH 68 posts | BATS COMPARE what is better as far as performance, the red miken end load or the new white one two piece, how does the new freak black compare in performance? thanks |
Dec. 3, 2014 laramie55 13 posts | I've still got two red Mikens that are awesome for how fast the ball comes off the bat. One is in it's fourth year of action with over a thousand hits on it. I love that bat but wished it had more end load (maxload= 0.5oz.) so now there is the Miken Big Cat (supermax load= 1oz.) which I will probably get. I haven't seen the one piece red for a real good price but have seen the white and the Big Cat for around a buck and a half on up. |
Dec. 3, 2014 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | I have all three. Still have the red from 2 years ago. Bought the white in 2013 and the Big Cat this year. The red I do not use as much these days, as well as the white. I think the Big Cat fits my swing a little better, and with the 1oz endload seems to pop the ball a little farther than the other 2. All are very good bats. It just depends on preference. |
Dec. 5, 2014 laramie55 13 posts | Thanks for the feedback cyborg45 as I am planning on retiring my reds and have been debating between the white (with Triad technology!) and the Big Cat which has the EL I prefer but apparently does not have the triad tech. I use the supermax loading in my USSSA bat and prefer it over the smaller maxload too. Glad they made the Big Cat. |
Dec. 5, 2014 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | If you like an endload, I would definitely try the Big Cat. I really could not tell the difference between the white 2 piece and the Big Cat until I swung them side by side. The 1/2 oz. extra was then noticeable. My white took forever to break in, and I have a little power. The Big Cat, not as long. I didn't change weights between all 3. Hope this helps. |
Dec. 5, 2014 LP 317 posts | I bought a white two piece worked it and worked to try and break it in was the worst bat I ever had, threw it away didn't want to wish that thing on anyone |

Dec. 5, 2014 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | LP, I felt the same way for a long period of time. I beat the hell out of the white for quite a while. It finally came around, but it took far longer than most players will tolerate. My understanding is the next batch of whites broke in a bit easier. I bought mine in June of 2013, shortly after they came out. |

Dec. 8, 2014 laramie55 13 posts | Wish Miken would bring out a senior bat with their Ultramax El (1.5oz, used on the KF-30 Filby u-trip bat). I may be misremembering but was the Triad tech added to the second batch and not included in the first? |
