The difference between a line drive and a home run, or a ground ball for that matter, does not have much to do with a certain bat. It is where the bat contacts the ball. Most of the senior bats are fairly close as far as their exit speeds are concerned. It really comes down to feel and how a particular bat would fit your swing. It just really has to do with experimentation. Find something you can get consistent with and stay with it. |

So long as you still can maintain bat control i.e., putting the bat on the ball where you want to, even a half oz EL will aid in a more effective bat/ball collision which will give a higher batted ball speed and make it more likely to shoot the OF gaps. I prefer a full oz (and want to try an ounce and a half) but that's me. See if some of the guys will let you try a little sampling of their bats while following cyborg45's advice. |
