Courtesy Runner on Base n is Up to Bat
Staff:
Rule 8.5 (4) relates that the out is at the base n does not effect the runner's turn to bat, unless it is the third out. If that runner's decision to run causes that third out of the inning does the runner still leads off the next inning with batting? Mahalo for any clarification! Aloha, Fabe

@Fabe: The courtesy runner on base when it's his turn to bat does cause the out at the base AND he is required to bat in his proper position in the batting order ... He comes to bat immediately if there are less than two outs at that time, OR he leads off the next inning if his out at the base causes the third out of the ½-inning at bat ...

Mahalo for the rule clarification…I does change strategy of the game if the player on base is not penalized with missing a turn to bat if his choice caused the third out! Fabe
