Spring Training in Vero Beach, FL March 27-29
We don't have 3 feet of snow, but it was 8 degrees this morning in upper South Carolina and my ole bones can't take it. Looking forward to coming down and getting thawed out, getting some great batting instructions and position tips. Also want to find out if I can hang with you guys on the tall telling(lies)event.

Alan is it possible to get or make a video of the Spring Training in Vero Beach? For us that can not make it to the Training. I'm sure there will be alot of great information for those to wish to take thier game to to the next level. Thanks.

Just finished spring training with Alan and the guys and it was fantastic...weather was very cooperative for the most part and the company was great...the advisory staff was top of this world not only in knowledge and experience but just A-class people all around...My hat goes off to Bob O'Brien, Jason Kendrick, Davey Reed, Carlos and of course our gracious, well spoken host Alan Tanner......we learned as much on the field as we did off with exercise ideas and training techniques that will likely prolong our careers so we can still play when we are Davey Reed's age....I wonder if I could sneak him into my league a few times....hmmm.....but again, it was a great experience meeting fellow devoted softball players like myself and picking up big and little tips from all walks of softball life.....Thank you again Alan and the staff...A++++ all the way...Brian from Syracuse

Just sitting in my recliner contemplating the last three days at Alan Tanners Spring Training camp. What a GAS !!! I met a large group of fantastic people, an even more fantastic group of instructors, and had the best time I have had in a long time on a softball field. You see, I haven't played the game in almost 10 years. I just got introduced to the senior softball scene here in winter haven this year. I hope to get in some resemblance of shape, and continue playing for many more years. Thanks to Alan, Bob, Jason, Carlos, and Davey for taking the time to impart their vast knowledge of the game to everyone at the camp. See you next year guys!!

I echo all the above remarks about the camp in spades!! What impressed me the most besides Alan's Christian witness was how his staff was genuinely excited and willing to try to help us upgrade our game after them participating at the highest levels of softball. They didn't seem to get bored or tired of even our simplest questions. They always had endless time for you with the fundamentals of the game. They were all so accessible anytime.
Jason, son, I have never seen a softball fly so high and so far as it did when you hit it and you did it with a Combat fresh out of the wrapper. After hitting some 350 ft. and 375 ft. balls, he turns to us and states he is now going to see how far he can hit it as he was just trying to get some lift on the previous ones. WOW!!! They were out of the park, across the road, over the trees into the parking lot. Of course all the staff were impressive accomplished long-ball hitters. Davey, you're truly amazing.

I received tons of useful information about nutrition(Bob O'Brien is not just another dumb jock) and instruction on hitting and fielding, which has encouraged and got me excited about improving my game this coming year.

Thank-You Alan Tanner and staff. See you next year.

Question for Alan Tanner. Are there going to be any pictures or videos posted anywhere from the spring training camp? Personally, i was having so much fun, i completely forgot to take any pics. DUH!! As far as next year goes, the only thing i can think of for improvement would be video of the various phases of the camp. ( the talks given by you and your staff would be priceless!) Video of batting practice, with the commentary of the instructors for each "camper", would be invaluable. (as we all know, the memory "aint what it used to be"!) Once again, thank you and your staff for a great weekend, and I'll see you on the field soon!

Doerbaum,

I was there on Saturday and took a bunch of pictures. I'm working on getting in touch with Alan and gathering some information so that I can create a web page or two on my web site. Alan probably has everyone's email address so as soon as I have something ready we'll pass the word by email.

Just wanted to say thanks to Alan for putting this together, Davey, Carlos, Bob and Jason Kendrick for taking time to help out us OLD guys. I had a blast!!!! The camp would help players from the Plus division all the way down to just rec players. The information off the field was just as or more important!! I love it when I see someone 20 years my senior and come out to woek on their game. I was impressed very much by the professionalism of the staff and the mind set of all the campers. Definitley want to go back next year!! Thanks again staff!!!!

The Spring Training in Vero Beach by Team 1 Sports was among the best sports programs that I ever attended as well as the best Value. A great combination of physical and mental training with specific "actionable" steps to improve both softball performance but also more importantly healthy life skills. The instructors were not only some of the best softball players in the world but also great communicators in a myriad of areas that included; change management, physiology, philosophy and practice of hitting, fielding and throwing with personalized individual instruction and critically important keeping balance in all our lives. The Wow factor was watching hitting legends from 43 to 67 drive balls in the park at amazing speeds for base hits when appropriate and then blast 400 to 500 foot home runs that NASA may still be investigating! Couple all of the above with great attendees from all over the United States who share the passion of " playing a kids game" for fun, spirited competition and camaraderie. Personally have already begun my home work and can't wait to both compete on my local fields soon as well as sign up for next years program to continue to improve and too see fellow attendees again. Thank you Alan Tanner, OB, Davey, Carlos and Jason.
Best personal regards,
Jon Stone

I have to say the experience in Vero Beach this past weekend was a memorable experience. I woke up everyday at 430am to commute to Sebastian not only to play and get better but to be with the people who only a day earlier we're strangers.. Lynn and I are very much looking forward to not only next year but I am trying to convince Alan to put on another similar event in the Fall. Say after the World Series. I know Lynn and I would attend.
Thank you to Alan and his wonderful staff., not only for enriching my knowledge of the game but for enriching our lives!

Fall Camp? What a GREAT idea Alan! Do you have the dates yet? When can I sign up? I look forward to seeing you and your staff again this fall.

One other thought is I along with a lot of others I bet would like to see you construct a message board that yourself, maybe Bob and Davey could have weekly tips and answer our questions about training and nutrition.

Boy, did you open up a can of worms with us ole guys.

I'll chime in with some kudos as well. The camp was very well run and we got a lot accomplished. My thoughts on the staff:

Carlos was quiet, but offered a few subtle helpful hints. He worked with me on finishing my swing - getting all the way through the zone.

Davey Reed? How can a 68 year old man hit a softball that far? I've never worked out a day in my life, but he's (almost) inspired me to start. He gave me some tips that I hope to implement if I can get my lazy butt moving.

Alan is a great player and did a very good job of keeping things organized and moving along, even with the schedule changes necessitated by Friday afternoon rains. I bought a bat from him Sunday, but it must be defective. The one he hit went a lot farther than mine.

Jason Kendrick can hit a softball farther than I can hit a golf ball. Not sure I could learn much from him as he plays a game that I barely recognize. But man! is he fun to watch hit.

Finally, Bob O'Brien. Intentionally saved him for last. I was so impressed by his knowledge and his ability to impart that knowledge in a way that is easily and clearly understood. I could listen to him all day long and still come back for more. He knows the science of the game, and the mechanics forwards and backwards, but never, not even once, spoke in a way that would go over your head. Everything made sense. If I had to list one disappointment, it was that we ran out of time before he was able to show us the drills he had planned on walking us through on Sunday. I have no doubt those drills would have proven to be immensely helpful, and equally important to my brain that always, always wants to know "why", they would have been educational, logical and coherent. Maybe next time.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this camp. One thing I can promise: If you don't get your money's worth - that's on you.

Jamie

Returned to upstate NY yesterday what a long but worthwhile drive from Vero. I hit with my regular thursday group today and many wanted to know what went on and if I would pass on anything of value to them. I did and had a 15min. mini clinic it was fun and recalling what I learned helped to burn the information into my brain.
Thanks to all the staff and my fellow campers for an enjoyable experience.
Mr Reed I now have a foam roller and streching bands in my bag, and Bob O'brian I have the 3 pound dumbells. Thanks Jim Ferrell

Well today in Orlando I got the opportunity to get out on the field and put into action all the things I learned from Spring Training 2015; the flute grasp of the bat, staying still in the batters box, hands up, look at the part of the ball you want and take your swing. I kept hitting home run after home run. It felt great. Additionally I have my bands and three pound weights. I was amazed how sore I was the day after using those exercise tools. I have become a student of the game and it's paying off. Once again thanks to Alan and his staff!

I finally have a chance to comment about the clinic that I attended in Sebastian Florida. I got back to NJ and couldn't wait to get some swings in after the instruction I received from Alan and his staff. I have to say that it was an excellent experience. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about what they could offer but I have to say that Alan and his Staff were top-notch. It was well organized and I had the opportunity to work one on one with every one of his instructors. There was about 30 people who attended with varying degrees of skill and they spent a lot of time with each one. There was plenty of BP and even some time for a few innings between the campers. I met some new friends and hope to stay in touch until I attend the next one Alan runs.

Watching Alan and his staff hit was impressive and they have motivated me to get better. I've already taken 500 swings in the past few days and have committed to try and get in a lot more each week to get more consistent. Well done Alan and I will see you next year!

Alan, after attending your softball camp I realize softball and equipment sales are just part of your business. You have a lot of irons in the fire as we said growing up.
BUT, do you think you would have time maybe once month to send out a info letter(diet, training, newest equipment) related to senior softball for anyone who wanted to sign up? Maybe Bob and Davey could contribute also. I'm sure you would have a good response. Also if you decided I hope your sweet wife doesn't find out who came up with this idea.

Someone said that you should always go back and check your work before you turn it in. Apparently that wasn't something that totally sunk in. Needless to say there was some info missing from the original web pages so I've corrected that and have re-published the corrected pages.

Mac33,

No, it's on a web site that I own. Please email me at jrbeasley@jbeaz.net and I'll send you a link.

I can't advertise the sit here because it would violate the rules.

Alan:
Thank you and your staff for hosting the best sports program I ever attended.
You and your staff, Bob, Jason, Davey and Carlos, were great and sincere in their individual approach to hitting/fielding techniques, exercise, nutrition and the mental aspects of the game that will help improve ones level of play. Being an older player, I did appreciate the
individual care given by the staff...positive proof was my 7 for 8 for the two games !!
An added gem of the program and was the camaraderie and the positive spirit among the campers and Alan and his staff.
Again, kudos for great program....book me 'Danno" for the
next program...

HI ALAN, FIRST, CONGRATS ON THE WIN! SECOND, SAME PARK? OR DO YOU KNOW YET. I'VE GOT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT BEACH TO PLANT THE WIFE AT SO I'M ALLOWED TO GO PLAY BALL!!LOL. LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THIS AGAIN. BEEN GOING TO WOODLAWN HITTING CLUB IN ST. PETE ABOUT ONCE A MONTH, AND BOBBY SAID ONE SENTENCE TO ME AFTER A ROUND ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I'LL BE DARNED IF HE DIDNT HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I STARTED HITTING THE BALL MORE OUT FRONT AND GAINED 20 FEET.
ALSO, DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT VIDEO FOR THIS CAMP, BUT I WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP OUT WITH THIS PART. I HAVE A CAMERA THAT WILL DO SLOW MOTION IN FULL HD. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HEAR A RUNNING COMMENTARY BY THE INSTRUCTORS AS ONE IS HITTING B.P.
