Senior Round Robins
Years ago Jim Brumund of Chicago said to Coachie and me "You bring the beer, and we'll bring the steaks, and we'll meet somewhere between Chicago and Indy and play games all day." We had traveled everywhere and kept playing each other all over the country; so it was a pretty good suggestion, wish we had done it. He and Coachie are playing on the team upstairs now.

The thought occurred to me then that it would be really nice to have senior round robins on the weekends. My idea was maybe to have a house team or two and have other teams from around the area meet on a Friday night and play three games to give everyone a chance to play when there was a not a tournament.

Does anyone do anything like this in your area? Would you be likely to join in a team that was traveling to a city 50 - 100 miles away with a round robin team that was not necessarily your regular team? Men's round robins are pretty big here on Saturdays, but I would appreciate any input. You have to remember that my perspective is a little different because I am not trying to make any money on softball. I just love to be around it, especially senior softball and look for ways to create more play.

Thanks.
