Dudley Lighning 12 inch senior bat.
BruceofGa how many swings did you get on your Dudley before it died. Maybe it's still alive. If so what's the count.

It's still alive with about 1800 swings. My 13" 29oz broke today with 1700 by my count. I bought it used and the previous owner said it had 200 swings on it when he sold it to me. If it only had 200 swings the total is around 1700 which, to me, is lower than I expected.

Lefty I had over 1800 swings on a 13" barrell 28oz and 1650 on a 12" barrel Dudley I believe the the 12" barrel is more for a pull hitter and the 13" is for a hitter that sprays the ball around.

I believe barrel size should not affect where the ball goes. How you read the pitch (outside, middle, inside) probably tells a batter where they should be going. Other options are moving up in the box, wait a little longer, lead with your hands, rotate your rear foot to the outside, etc. But, then again these thoughts may all be out to lunch. (I'm still not consistently there yet with all these options and any others I've missed since I've only been at it for several years.)

Thanks for the info Bruce and Don. At lease now I have some idea on how many swings I'll get with the 12".

I had a 12" with approximately 1500 cuts that busted. I hit the bat in a few games when the temp was below 65, not real smart. Two guys I hit BP with have bats with around 2000 hits on them and they both hit it harder than I do. Definitely great bats.

Do you guys find that we're hearing greater number of hits on several brand bats before they brake? Seems the manufactures are all making headway in durability.

Yes hemi. Once the first bat was tested, was found to have durability, it seemed like other manufacturers jumped on the band wagon. Besides loads of hits, most if these bats also provide distance.

Swing,
I saw a player do just that this weekend swinging a Dudley. He hit a ball of the cap. Dinger. He hit a ball off the grip. Dinger. Hit a ball of the sweet spot. Missile dinger.
I bought a Dudley.
Just sayin.

Swing, I know a few of the guys posting here, Lefty, BruceinGa, jah#4 and Tri18. All four are very capable of hitting 300 ft + shots 4 out of 10 times hitting 44/375 balls with most, if not all, senior bats.

Perl, just tell him that two of us are over 65 and one is over 60. Everyone knows when you get that old you only have warning track power!
