March 10, 2015 voodoo sports Men's 40 3 posts | state directors changing rules wanted some feedback so I will paint the picture. played in phoenix this past weekend and very disappointed in how the tourney was run. 40+ had 8 teams, best turn out in a while. Coaches were told its 2 game round robin for seeding then double elim with 3GG. 4 teams go 2 and 0 and 4 0 and 2. Bracket is made and all 4 undefeated teams play each other. Why have seeding then? when speaking to the director he says even if we went 0 and 2 we still would be in same upper part of bracket because we are all major and1 major+. The other teams are AAA. I asked is this there first time playing TD says yes (also asked teams). Then if your following SSUSA they are major. No they aren't as good as you guys so we made them aaa to be fair so they come back. I say last year we went 0 and 9 and you told us we had to play 3 qualifiers first before petitioning to drop. So why are they teams starting at aaa when that is not the rule? he says we are tried to build the 40s. Then why did you turn 2 40 teams down to play? not enough fields. Ok so your not following SSUSA rules but are using their name to advertise right? no we are following the rules. how? ok so how was that one team a major + team but another major + team was told they cant play. that other team is too good and we want this program to build. Why did the major + team have to spot runs? because they are an upper team Then why didn't we spot runs to the aaa teams if we are major? im not going to argue with you anymore. Bottom line won or lost it was wrong, we beat the major plus team w/o taking the spot just couldn't wake up on sunday with the bats What I want to know from you all is there something that can be done by SSUSA to make sure state directors follow national rules and not make their own up? |

March 11, 2015 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | It's time for teams in Arizona and visiting states to wise up and stop paying money for this directors tournaments. Time and time again he comes up with these stupid rules that he seems to make on the fly. You pay your entry fee and show up on Saturday morning only to be told thing like, game times are 45 minutes long, each team bats twice to start the game, or you are using wood bats. Then on Sunday things change again. Let's play elsewhere. |
March 11, 2015 VOODOOSPORTS Men's 40 34 posts | Although Rick is the state director I did not speak with him. Unfortunately AZ only has SSUSA so its the only place to play and qualify for worlds. I just wanted to know if there is someone to complain to nationally so we follow the rules. We all know the ASA AZ issues so this thread isn't about that its just looking for direction from others to have national address this. |

March 12, 2015 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | DC You left out the parts that if he thinks you are too good a player he bans you from playing or if he doesn't like you he won't let you play. The guy is a TOOL.................... |
