This is for Bogie
If this is the Bogie that posted to my last post and produces the swing makeover series, this is for you.

I have hit with you at the Woodlawn Hitting Club and really enjoy your hitting series. The last one one jumped out at me when you said your back was limiting your swing. That made me think. It pretty much decribes a good many in the older age groups. Your videos show case younger guys with extrodinary bat speed, power and follow thru. How about a video geared directly towards say the 70 and overs. Guys who don't have that great whip anymore. Maybe your best research on hitting solid singles and the techniques involved. For example, in my case, I am still very athletic and "used" to have a bunch of power. I am trying real hard to deal with the fence is now that thing off in the distance that I only visit if I hit a gapper. I am trying hard to become a really good line drive hitter. Could use some advice.

Gary...sorry to have missed you at the club...always enjoy hitting with you! Actually 3 of the next 4 episodes are edited and they focus on dealing with age..injury..and showing lessons with 70 and 80 year old athletes...it's an age group that I totally respect and enjoy watching their dedication...if you have any input email me for future use and I'd love to find an anti aging pill ha 61 seems bad enough

Maybe you two could meet in Indy next week and film an episode with Gary at Midwest? You might even get an interview with Dave. Looking forward to the Brickyard.

That's a great idea, but sadly I will be planting corn and soybeans and not making the tournament...Ill be at Midwest Championships, Elgin and the Minneapolis tournaments if you guys will be attending. Hope the weather is good for all of us next weekend.

Thanks bogie, from those of us that planted corn, cotton, sugar cane and bailed hay for the live stock.

Not to mention big gardens.

Now we will enjoy what your soybeans provide.

Enjoy it as time goes fast. I now feel good when mowing my yard.

Have a great SEASON (growing season).

Unfortunately, I will miss you at all three events. Even though I live only 35 minutes from Elgin, I always miss that tournament. I am a Legit Bad Ass Harley rider and as usual will be out at the Sturgis biker rally in SD raping and pilaging as usual.

Gary, I will see you in Indy. It looks like you are part of Coachie's and my Bikes N Strikes. He really tried to get me to go to Sturgis, but it just was not going to happen. We went to the Boogie here once. I grew up in 70s, and the 500 here used to mean the whole month of May was a drunken party. Even so I had never seen as much nudity as I did at the Boogie. I was not offended and think everyone should attend once, but let's just say that mine were probably the only ones never displayed. Of course Coachie thought that I was too ate up with softball to make the trip, but he started that merry go round with me. I would have been glad to go when there were not a million bikers. I feel like an equal in my softball life, but typically on biker events let's just say women are objectified and treated like dummies. Softball has been much better therapy for me than anything to do with motorcycles. Your last comment kind of sums up what I think about it, no offense taken though.

Bogie, I hope one of your future videos includes "Cincinnati Fred" as an 80+ hitter. I don't know if you've seen him hit at The Club, but he - in his 80's, still is a prolific line-drive hitter. And, he still plays in the FHC tourneys.

While officiating a couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting an 80+ team from Louisville that I did not know about. Maybe when you two are not farming or cruising, we could meet up at Metro in Indy to film that episode. It opened the year after WWII ended, is where senior softball began here, is where Coachie and I spent much quality time, and where we memorialized him. Filming for 8 Men Out was done there, but only the last scene with Shoeless Joe Jackson made the cut. I always get that little girl feeling when I watch that; I have so many good memories there and know that I am surrounded by good spirits of all the players that went before us. I would be glad to share stories during the Brickyard.

Of course now the episode will probably be Bogie and Gary Do the Boogie.
