obstructed base
No need to use the umpire has authority to make decisions on rules not covered for this play. On any obstruction call the runner is awarded the base , in the unpires judgement that he would have made if the obstruction had not occurred. In this play, since the runner went on to third base he could be safe there also if the umpires judgement was that he would have reached third. Missing second base on this play is mute, the runner certainly would have been safe there.

In this play, since the runner went on to third base he could be safe there also if the umpires judgement was that he would have reached third or maybe even home. Missing second base because of the obstruction is mute, since he certainly would have reached there.
