Crazy ACC Schedule Change
NO teams start earlier than as had been originally scheduled and posted ... Good luck! This is what SSUSA posted in there "space" at the top of the page.
Well, they were wrong. Our start times for 55 major on Saturday went from 3 PM to 8 AM.(there was going to be one 12:30 game on Saturday for the losers of games played on Friday)
We also start at 8 am on Friday, which did stay the same. 8 am start two days in a row, and maybe three if you come back through the losers bracket, just doesn't seem fair. 55 Major is now the only bracket having to play at 8 am all three days.
We still have the same amount of teams in 55 major but for some reason, one team less in 50 major and our whole schedule for 55 major is changed.

breakdown of start times

50 major, 11 friday, 9;30 on saturday
50 AAA, 8 friday (one team), 1230 saturday
55 major, 8 friday , 8 saturday
55 AAA , 12:30 friday, 8 saturday
60 major, 2 friday, 1230 saturday (one team)

What's wrong with this picture?

I know the schedule is "not official" until the managers meeting, but that is a big change for one team dropping out.
I'm done with my rant, I'll be there and will continue to play SSUSA, they just got it wrong this time. They usually get it right.

"Start" means your team's FIRST GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT ... We probably should have made that a little more clear! ... When we have this type of last moment withdrawal, it wreaks havoc on all of the divisions of play at that particular venue, and this time was no exception ... The goal is to NOT have teams plans for their hotel stays or starting day travel plans adversely affected ... We believe we met that goal for Friday ... Where/when you play on Saturday is largely a function of how your team performs on Friday ... Good luck!

Uh, yes you have met your goal for Friday. But correct me if I'm wrong, the way I read my schedule, most of the 55 Major games for Saturday start at 8AM (except for the 2 losers of the lower 4 seeds play-in game on Friday afternoon). So, Friday doesn't have much bearing on game times. Also, you could possibly play at 8AM, and then at 8PM on Saturday depending upon how things turn out. Yuck. Can we go back to the original schedule for Saturday? :-)

Chris ... Any 55-Major team that wins a Saturday morning game at 8:00 AM is guaranteed to be out of the park by 12:30 PM, regardless of a win or loss at 11:00 AM ... That should be the goal, staying in the Winners' Bracket ... At the risk of sounding unintentionally flippant, the Elimination Bracket is more about survival than it is about convenience ... You may prefer the initial DRAFT Saturday bracket schedule, and that's fine ... But all changes were required by the post-schedule release withdrawal of Team Disconnect (MD), who would be a more appropriate place to direct any criticism ... Good luck!

Didn't you have High Street in as a 50 Major team? So then Team Disconnect dropped out and you slid high street into their place.
So nothing really changed in the 55 majors, right? If TD hadn't dropped out and then you had to add the Bucs, to make it 11 teams instead of ten, I could see how things would have to change. But you had ten teams on Wed and Thur and Fri.

wagon487 ... Yes, we initially had the HSB 50's in the tournament ... We thought it was 8/10 on the teams allocation by division ... Changing to 7/11 would have been pretty easy because an "even" number of total teams is always easier from a bracket logic perspective ... But when the total number went "odd" at 7/10, the bracket logic was dramatically different and affected ALL other Divisions of play, including the 40/50-Platinum and the 55-AAA's as well ... In a complete statement of the obvious, the path to a Championship is always shorter and easier when the route goes through the Northern Hemisphere of the bracket ...

Winning has its bracket schedule rewards ... The Elimination Bracket, not so much so ...

Really guys,

Maybe you guys should try running the tournament. I get the times are not what you wanted but are they suppose to be? We used to show up for the first game and then sat around and follow the bracket for two days based on if you win or lose. So teams even got lucky and didn't make to Sunday, I bet they were extremely happy about that. Schedules change, as long as it doesn't affect my travel and lodging expenses it good with me.
