rain delay rules
This past weekend we played in a T.O.C. tournament in Leesburg, Va and we got rained out on Saturday after heavy rains. The tournament committee decided that the games that were rained out and remaining games would be 5 inning games! While my understanding is that the committee has 3 options, I feel that they choose the worst of the 3 options. Why not go to the 1 & 1 count and play 7 innings or at the very least, play 7 innings for the championship games?

Does anyone else have an opinion on the committees decision in the event it rains at another tournament?

I am glad that you got your games in. Not to belittle your concern, but to hopefully make you a little grateful, the park here that has the most adult tournament games in this situation goes 45 minutes and 1 pitch until they catch up. They have also cancelled the losers' bracket in the worst conditions.

They had to something to shorten games, and I think changing the count changes the game more than reducing the innings. I am sure the committee weighed all options which is better than one person making the call. You know that there was at least some thought and discussion put into it.

We were rained out in vegas last month. In the 5th inning down 2 we were home team. Well they called the game said we lost because as of the last inning we couldn't catch up. Well they hit all their homeruns we had 5 left. The idea ESPECIALLY at BLD is to save HR's for the end. The homeruns left for each team should count for at least a run. We got booted for playing smart and down went our $575
