June 10, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Worth Senior Legit Just a heads up guys, we bought a 26 ounce 2015 worth senior legit bat that the barrel is loose from the handle which is a defective bat and worth will not replace the bat they say it came with no warranty even though this is not the case |
June 13, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Reads like it is a two piece bat. You might want to post your contact info or at least email addy on here If you have receipt and it was a fairly recent buy. There are at least two Worth reps on the board, perhaps they might be able to help you out. Receipt is main issue as well as time used I'd think. But it isn't right if it is a defective bat as I read the post. |
June 14, 2015 titanhd Men's 60 638 posts | Taits makes a good point but, it is the case that the bat is sold with no warranty. As Taits stated however, Exceptions are made. |
June 14, 2015 ju25 Men's 60 234 posts | I had a 454 senior that was less than 30 days old and had about 200 swings on it when it broke. Called Worth and they told me to send it back and they would take a look at it, but would not promise a return. They sent me a new 454 after inspection. Loose barrel is a defective bat IMO. |
June 14, 2015 lewis 49 posts | I was hoping one of the reps would respond, so I could tell them a 160 pound 68 year old senior is the only one that has swung the bat since it was bought late last year. I believe it's not a warrant issue it a manufactures defect from the factory. I've helped promote their products to other player a lot so now I will steer them away from worth and miken products if they won't stand behind their products. |
June 14, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Manufacturing Defects – When a product is defective as a result of how it was manufactured, a plaintiff may have a manufacturing defects claim; Design Defects – Liability may arise under this theory if a product is harmful or dangerous as a result of a mistake in how it was designed. This ground may be raised when the product is used as intended or when it is used in a reasonably foreseeable manner; Different in some states but all basically the same rgarding the above. I do not blame the reps for not replying to this because you leave out pertanent info. I doube any would jump in and say I'll take of it. I wouldn't. |
June 15, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Worth received all the information they asked for. |
June 16, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Was that upon the initial claim or what...You lascked info here and it semms to me, sidestepping all info to go fourth. I might be wrong but I'be been there before with 3-4 companies. All resolved but the first one, that one said they never recieved bat. Only time I ever sent one w\o a tracking code. Not a good idea. Good luck for what ever you do going forward on this and there different some what in some states but they have laws on it. |
June 21, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Alan, I hoped you would be the one to respond! We bought the bat through softball.com. I was emailed by two different women from worth but both of them didn't really want to address the problem. Softball.com's site states to contact the manufacture of the bat and not them so that's what we did. We are in the process of getting a receipt from them now. Thanks Steve Brown desperados 55 and N.M/ lasers 50. |
June 21, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Alan, have contacted them and now they changed systems in February and can't get to information from before that they say they're working on it. Steve Brown |
June 22, 2015 Stan6 Men's 55 3 posts | Lewis, I am an Advisory Staff Member & dealer for Worth.(& a senior player). Alan was spot on with his statement that Worth is usually very good about return of defective products. You definitely need to send it in and have it looked at. Once they have a chance to check it out, you should be in good shape. Paul Stanley Worth Advisory Staff |
June 23, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Thanks Paul but softball.com can't come up with the receipt, cause they can't access their old system before February of this year. Steve brown |
June 25, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Something awfully fishy in all this. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to get the info needed for resolution, such as a receipt. Over the years I've dealt with softball.com on eBay, their web site and on the phone never had a problem gettin g a receipt or item resolution. |
June 25, 2015 LeeLee50 140 posts | Is it just me? If I bought a senior bat with no warranty late in 2014 and it broke 6 to 8 months later I wouldn't expect it to be replaced. It if broke within the first 30 days or 20-60 cuts, that would be a different story for me. JMSFHO |
June 25, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Taits think what you want! There is nothing fishy about this check with Mark Weber I've played either with him or against him for over thirty years he can tell you what type of person I am. Lee Lee 50 IT'S NOT A BROKEN BAT IT'S DEFECTIVE! Steve Brown desperados 55 and N.M. lasers 50's |
June 26, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Lewis, The easiest way for you given that you were not able to get a 'receipt' from Softball.com but you no doubt used pay-pal if you used ebay. Pay-pal has receipts you can get to through your acct info but it's time constrained, don't knw how long. CC's also give you recourse for defective products. What i think....You should have been able to figure any of these out and taken which ever road & taken it to Worth on the defect issue. If it was relatively recent, say 90 days of so you should still have some time. Who known maybe you still can. |
June 26, 2015 LeeLee50 140 posts | Lewis I am sorry I got now it's a defective bat gods knows how many cuts you put on it or what type of balls you used or what the weather was like while you were hitting it for the past 6-8 months. Yeah I got it and I also have a bunch of defective bats like that, I bet like a bunch other guys on this site. LOL I am sorry I cant blame the manufacture for a bat that is 6-8 months old. I have had 4 worth mutants that have all telescope it is the nature of the beast. Worth 2 piece bats telescope nothing new, sometimes they replace them and some times they don't. In Nor Cal that bat would have made it through a season which is pretty normal for a bat until now with the Dudley's reliability. How long did expect the bat to last? |
June 26, 2015 lewis 49 posts | Taits no we didn't use pay pal. The owner of the bat, the 68 year old, 160 pound senior is trying to get a receipt from his credit card company. Lee Lee I have never swung the bat and the owner has average bat speed for his age. |
June 26, 2015 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | I might be wrong, but this is sounding (reading) like it's been on here before. But it may have been about a dinged up bat, rather than a defective bat, though it was someone doing simulial for another 'owner' of the bat on here. Maybe a year ago or so. So I stand by my fish story, sorry. Sorry too, that the bat went bad, but it happens as mentioned on here. Getting that from the CC coompany could take forever, err 30 days, but time lost in theis 3rd party affair deal didn't help either of you out. As a senior I learned some things the hard way over time, but this one (receipts) I learned with my 1st CC back in 1966. Good luck to both of you. |
June 27, 2015 LeeLee50 140 posts | Lewis sorry this happened to your teammate. But you do have to understand that there is a lot more variables to the equation than a 160lb 68 year old man with average bat speed with a bat purchased 6-8 months ago having a defective telescoping bat. I hope you get it resolved. Good Luck |
