Is the first offense game over or just an out: §3.4(6) • PENALTY FOR USE OF AN ALTERED BAT OR SOFTBALL – Section title was changed and section amended to establish the following penalty provisions for use of an altered softball: First offense = Game forfeiture and any subsequent offense(s) in the same tournament = Tournament team ejection and potential further suspension of team Manager at discretion of SSUSA. An altered softball is deemed to be in play when the ball is in the pitcher’s possession and a batter is in the box – PASSED 9:1 §3.5 F. • OFFICIAL SOFTBALL – Subsection created to provide penalties for the introduction of a nonofficial softball into play. First offense = the batter being called out and for any subsequent offense(s) in the same game = an inning‐ending out. An non‐official softball is deemed to be in play when the ball is in the pitcher’s possession and a batter is in the box – PASSED 9:1 |

Example: "Chilled Softballs" or otherwise altered softballs • OFFICIAL SOFTBALL = Batter out on 1st offense, inning-ending out for subsequent offense(s) ... Example: Using any ball other than the official SSUSA Anaconda Trump/Stote softball, such as "The Rock" (in a non-Las Vegas event) |
