Bat Knob Issues with Miken/Worth Equipment
I believe it has been documented pretty well that both Miken and Worth bats have experienced issues with the knob's coming off the bat. It seems to be prevalent for both senior bats and non-senior bats. I don't understand how they cannot come up with a solution for this issue. It's frustrating for people buying bats to see systemic manufacturing or design issues like this.

More importantly, this is a SAFETY issue. We had something happen in league last night that could have resulted in a severe injury. Our lead off hitter for that inning was taking warm up swings before the inning and the knob came off the bat. The knob stayed in the batter's hand and the bat went flying towards our dugout. The bat hit the fence post so hard that it cracked the barrel of the bat. It barely missed one of our players who had just walked into the dugout.

For any of you folks who know Miken/Worth reps or are Miken/Worth reps, has this been something that has been discussed or being addressed as far as you know? I can't understand why this hasn't been addressed especially in newer bats like the DC41 that it happened to last night. I don't see this happen to any other product.

Any thoughts or comments?

We had a bat separate from its knob last week in bp. I don't know, however, who the manufacturer is.
It looks as if many are aware of this problem. Check out this link:

Thanks for the info Alan. It's good to see that something has been done. We've all repaired a bunch of knobs so we have that down pretty well at this point. It just seemed like an easy thing to fix in the production process which apparently it was. I just hope that no one gets hurt using the models that don't have the fix in place. I was about 10' from the bat that launched towards the dugout and just about soiled myself when it happened. Everyone just needs to be aware and careful. If anyone needs marine adhesive, there's a bunch of us with a tube barely used :).

Alan, do you recommend the same marine glue for knobs that you use on bat ends?
