Curt Holllis "Classic Spring Training" in Jacksonville, Florida
Bruce in Georgia, I understand Curt and Steve Butler have arranged for the seniors to play at the State Prison in Raiford on Thursday night. I understand if you hit it out you can't go over the fence to get it! We should have a pretty good team as Ed Rose, Don Ward, you, Keith Gibbs, Randy Parker, big Dennis Willis, are reportedly going to be there. Gary Deaton is also going to be there but says it will bring tears to his eyes to be able to go back to where he once played for 3 years!!!! We need to spread the word and get more senior there.

I understand the 'Big Cat" Mike Macenko will also be there and will be a guest lecturer. Reportedly, some of the Specialty Tank flat belly boys will be there and Curt is trying to put together a game between the seniors and the young guns with us using Ultras and 47 core balls and the young guns using ASA bats and a 44 core ball. Reportedly, Jeff Hall will make an appearance and I suspect we will have a Legends homerun hitting contest with Curt and the Big Cat going head to head with Hall and one of his minions!

I also talked to Keith Gibbs, aka the fastest senior alive, and he says he will be there to defend his base running title against all comers. That was impressive last year him whipping over 30 of the youg guns!

Alright, keep me posted on the senior events and let everyone know they are welcome!

I know we will have a great time. I won't be able to make it to the prison game but will be there Friday.
About that game between the seniors and young guys, I don't think that the seniors will need U2's.

There are several from our senior league here in Woodstock that are planning on attending. Their skill level are anywhere from the casual recreational player to Major Plus caliber.
I'm looking forward to Feb!

Looks like fun in the sun. curt has gone over board getting the Big Cat down from Ohio, and Jeff Hall down from NC I wonder if the sun and all the hitting you can stand has anything to do with it

Fellows, all of the seniors wanting to play at Raiford will need to be pre-approved by the prison authorities as they will do some type of background check. They will require your SS#, driver license#, date of birth and legal name. You need to talk with Curt and get pre-approved. Contact him thru www.classicspringtraining.com

Hey Don, There is no set cutoff date on sign-ups. However, the earlier the better as I have to order shirts and food. I generally plan on a few late additions anyway. It always heats up in the last week. curt
