Jan. 18, 2007 STONEMAN Men's 50 535 posts | ANAHEIM, the wk-end of 01/27 to 01/28 Does anyone know much about the Anaheim, tournament the 27th & 28th of this month? I understand that this will be ran under ASA rules? 1) Balls, so-so. 2) Bats, no U-2's, Senior Combats, ONLY ASA BATS. 3) No mudkats(cones) 4) No fences...freeway is over 320'. THANKS........The STONEMAN....... |
Jan. 18, 2007 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | I've played there often and they've always allowed the Miken. It's the first I've heard of this. |
Jan. 18, 2007 salio2k Men's 60 547 posts | The recent tournaments at Anaheim have been ASA. There was one last August that allowed the U2. |
Jan. 18, 2007 salio2k Men's 60 547 posts | I have played in Anaheim for eight years. They have never said anything about cones or knobcuffs. I picked up a couple of knobcuff-unplugged just in case. Ken.....Was good seeing your team in Menifee. Will you be going to Anaheim? |

Jan. 18, 2007 STONEMAN Men's 50 535 posts | KEN & SALIO 2K: I got a phone call from one of the Vegas teams that just paid the Entry Fees. This team mgr.' told me that he was informed, that," this Tournament would be using ASA's LEGAL bat list." Can anyone call or give me a phone # to call in Anaheim. THANKS........The STONEMAN...... |

Jan. 19, 2007 STONEMAN Men's 50 535 posts | KOOKIEMAN: I talkes w/ Mike B, today. Mike, runs the Softball in The City of Anaheim. This is an ASA fun Tournament. We will be hit' Worth balls; good balls per Mike. As far as bats, we will NOT be able to use the U-2, or any bat on the Ban Bat List. I asked Mike, about the SENIOR COMBAT, & Mike, was not sure. Jan. 19, 2007 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Stoneman: You can bet the Yellow Rip-it and the Anaconda Senior Combat are not going to be allowed. Some day ASA or the cities will look back and regret it in hindsight, but seniors are getting the word around that we like to use what we pay for. and if we can't we will go where we can use them given another choice for the same time frame. The black ASA Rip-it has to be allowed..... along with the Freak for the moment at least. |
Jan. 19, 2007 STONEMAN Men's 50 535 posts | TRAIT: M.B., seems to be a very nice person. He also, understands SENIOR "needs." The problem here, appears to be: 1) INSURANCE 2) EDUCATION....The true understand' of bats & balls 3) A policy, already in effect. 4) ETC..................... MB, does not want to fight w/ the City of Anaheim. He is not sure that he can win this fight for SENIORS. The SENIORS, that live in Anaheim, will have to carry the ball. Hopefully, this policy will change. I told MB, about last yrs events; but, this did no good. Mike, will be @ the fields & will be wear' his city badge. At least, we can say hi, & thank him 4 run' SENIOR TOURNAMENTS. C U, the 27th...........The STONEMAN...................OUT |
Jan. 20, 2007 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Steve, I had also talked to him before you did. I was trying to find out if there was any teams he knew about looking for a pitcher or 1st baseman. Mike said he didn't post the phone number though but was glad it was left there to allow for questions to be answered. |
Jan. 21, 2007 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Sal, good to see you too. We’re scheduled to be in Anaheim, but we have a lot of guys banged up, so we’re not sure yet. Hope to see you there. Taits, the 55 and 60 teams will probably be entering some of your Fresno tournaments. |
Jan. 22, 2007 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Hope to see you and George then. LMK if you need a pitcher or 1st for Anaheim. |
