Stealing Bases
Will the senior associations adopt? This will be in effect in all levels of ASA for the 2004 season
Base-stealing in ASA for next year all levels; Yes you are reading that correct. When the ball crosses the plate you can take off.
If it hits the plate or in front of the plate its dead ball and runners cannot advance.

we played with that rule for the 79-81 seasons in the professional league.....it definitely keeps the catcher on his/her toes

Other than providing an opportunity for a pinch runner to make the all-tournament team, the only thing that this will add to the game is more injuries

Stealing in slow pitch? I seen it many years ago and did not like it much then but the game has changed so much that it could be more suited for todays game. It would certainly change many aspects of the game, the least of which would not be the catcher. Maybe moving the bases back an extra 5 feet would help the catcher nail these would be thieves.

Not sure if it's a good idea but I think it might be fun to try in a few tournaments.

Shoot! I'd have to relay my catcher's throw to 2nd. She can't get the ball back to me, the pitcher, much less throw someone out. ;-) Much as I'd like to run, I don't think I'd like to see that base stealing in effect.

Baseball & fastball is a game that lends itself well to stealing but SP ...Nah! I think it's a bad idea. Too many bad bounces from the pitcher at home to try and pick up and if you get in tight to the batter to catch the ball in the air you could be toast.
