Best Softball Bat
What is the best legal softball bat other than the Ultra II that is sanctioned by the ASA? Can you tell me what you know about the Stealth Bat? Does it deliver?

I am not an expert like most of you on this board. There are about sixty players here in Arizona that cast a vote for the Rip It Senior (black) ASA bat.
We like the swing balance, has the same or more pop than the ORG Freak, overall a great bat.
We are also very impressed with the company, very much a class act with attendtion to the senior market. Do not want this to be plug, I think the amount of guys using the bat speaks volumes.......

Although I have not used one yet, I am told by people who use it, the Combat A/V (anti virus) is the best out there that has been approved for ASA and all other softball. I will be getting mine in about a week and will let you know if it is true or not. They say better than a Freak, just a notch below the U2

We hit the AV and liked it, however it was a harder bat to swing than the Rip It. Maybe the balance and the flex, I understand that the Rip It is designed just for seniors and it shows. So both are very good and just a personal choice.

OK the new bats that have come out : Rip it Senior (black), Combat A/V discussed here I'm sure are good bats. But it seems like the bat of choice seems to come back to ASA legal Easton Synergy cnt flex. There must be some reason why a bat holes its price from $249 to $299. Even though the break in period is a little long. Once broke in watch out. The bat seems to hold in value and does not crack as much as the other bats. Just an opinion.

First off there is no such thing as the best bat for any Assoc. It depends on what you feel comfortable with and what you like end load, balance etc.

The best bat for me may not be the best bat for you or someone else.

Case in point Azsenior likes the Rip-It Senior ASA. I got one and it is a good bat but it is not a bat for me. Too Balanced and light.

For me the best ASA bat is my 98Z but it is not a good bat for everyone. I can outhit just about anyone in my age group with their Ultra's, Easton etc but if I used an Ultra, Rip-It etc they would probably outhit me.

It is personal feel that makes a bat the best for an individual player.

I had a Flex, sold it. Swung a Sr Rip it, broke it on 90 swings. Swung an AV this past weekend 10 times or so and liked it. I have an NEG 500 Maxload and like it very much. I have a May98 and it is so-so. My Jeff Hall M798 is ok, just nothing great.
LIke Fred said, what ever feels good to you. My NRG, the AV and JH are end loaded and the others are balanced.
Too bad you didn't attend Classic Spring Training, you could have hit all of these bats.

Play senior 65 + and my vote is for the Rip It Senior ASA. Also, my son is a sporting goods dealer (no plug here) and I have to say that Rip It is a breah of fresh air for the dealers and customers alike. With a 30 day buy back and hands down the best customer service on the market.

I agree with westsidesr. When I got mine I loved it and still do and was ready to by the Reaper sight unseen.

It was a big disappointed to me when I finally got around to feeling that this bat wasn't for me. I hope at some point they either make a 29 oz or an EL model which is more suited to my swing.

Today in the Chandler senior league. All ASA balls and bats. A large group of players, our team, thier team and guys waiting for the next game watched a homerun. A few of the guys when out, using a tape put the ball ( which hit a power box) at 348.2 ft, remember this is ASA, not U2. We even douple checked the bat, it was a stock Rip It senior black ASA bat.
So we here would like to put an end to this ongoing topic and state, the best bat on the market for ASA is the black Rip It.
You would agree too if you saw this shot. Besides it is the most used bat out there.
So that is our offical statement......done.

Denny10...........If you're going to play in Arizona, they will not let you use anything but the Rip-It. Outside of the state, the Combat Anti-virus is the best ASA bat!

Fred Scerra has it right.....you have to find the one you like best.

I am starting to see that if I say a word about anything but a Miken or Combat, which I understand help support this board, I should keep my opinion to myself.
I am so sorry that said the 'R' word to within this controlled think tank.

So our opinions as legaue matter not, unles we talk about Miken or Combat.....I will keep my Rip It thank you....

I really was going to buy a Rip-it Senior ASA , then I thought wow maybe I'll go with the stealth comp CNT , but I liked what I heard about the M-7 until I read a review on the anti-virus . Checked out the NRG 500 and the Flex , I went round and round until I decided maybe I'll just join a wooden bat league . Just kidding . I loved my org Freak , and just want something legal that will compare to the power it deliverd.

I just a pair of Mutants this week 1 MUT98 and 1 MUT120 and they are great bats. I have about 125 hits on each and I really love the MUT98. It is going to be a hard choice between MUT98 and my PST98Z. At this time I will still take my PSTOC over the MUT120.

The Mut120 I have the same comment as I had on the Rip-It, it is just too light and balanced for me. Both are good bats but neither one is for me.

I need that extra end load to feel comfortable when swinging.

Maybe we can say the Rip It senior is the best balanced bat for senior players. Since no one bat is best for all.
