DONT USE MY BAT!!
OK, just one team member can use it. Alright two. Wait a minute, almost my whole team is using my bat! Fortunately this only happens on one of the teams I play on (and not my senior team), but why is there always a guy who shows up with just his glove and shoes and no bat? Then the same guy picks up the brand new shiny most expensive bat and never thinks for a moment to buy one himself. In reality, if it helps us win, use my bat, but come on! With the price of bats going up and durability going down with short or no warranty, what do you say to a team member who would never shell out $300 for a bat but if he doesn't use someone elses, his hitting is less than it would be and the team suffers because of it. I started saying "if you break it, you buy a new one" but no one should play this game without bringing there own equipment. I feel cheap putting my bat in my bag each time I bat. You can use it to see if its the right one for you, but after you find out, Buy one!!!

Have you started hitting yet?

Try having the " in the hole batter" retrieve your bat after you hit and put it safely in your bat bag. Or..... bring an old bomb bat along and let the bat scab use it.

Good Luck

Heck Tater as big as you are I would not want to use your bat anyway. It might be to darn heavy and ofcourse it's not a U2 so that is a good rewason not to swing your bats.
I had a new player just pick a U2 at random and break it on his first swing, He just said it was ready to break anyway.
After doing this the second time after warnings not to do it he was cut from the team.
I hate to tell people not to use my bat after they ask so I tell them that it cost 100.00 a swing, payable before they use it. Havn't made any money yet but I am the only one that breaks my bats.

Make sure that everyone sees that you spit on the handle when you take your warm up swings.

yea ! don't you just love guys who show up with just a glove as their softball equipment, looking like they just got off work. I don't mind them using my bat, just as long as it's within the break-in period.
