Looking for an Over-50 Major+, 40+, 45+ Team
Tom Malvich - they call me TBone - outfielder with wheels and a good bat. Recently moved to Charleston SC from VA/DC/MD area. Not much high caliber softball around here. Have been told that the NC/GA over-50 teams are the ones that pick up players from SC. I have 7 Nat'l titles under my belt. Former teams include Angle Inn/Damon's (MD) - SSWS over-50 Major+ National Champs in 2004, Solid Gold (VA) ISF 50+ AAA Nat'l Champs 2004, X-Treme Impact (VA) - ASA 40+ Nat'l Champs 2002, Capital X-Ray Classics (VA) - Mulitple 40-over Nat'l Champs during the 90's. Feel free to talk to any of these teams for references. If anyone is looking for a pretty decent outfielder, I'm interested in 40+, 45+, 50+. Email back or call 703-626-5633 (cell).

Tbone if you want this to stay relevant you may have to bump it every so often or repost. As you will see this will land off of the front page in a hurry. Good luck.

Not that it carries alot of weight ,but I have played with Bone on Damons and played against him many times over the years...Not only is he a first class guy he is no doubt in my mind the best over 50 outfielder in the country...think not, race him!!! Good Luck Bone,Shannon never told me you even moved I'll get on him for that but you'll hook up some teams going to be damn happy they got you,I am proud to have had you as a team mate...

TBone, my man! Didn't know you'd moved either!

For those looking for references, I had the pleasure of playing with Tom in the 80's and 90's prior to my move to Texas. I played with him on the Virginia Pets and Capital X-Ray teams and, let me tell you, he can go get 'em! Excellent speed, great hitter and team player. Tom can play at the highest level and help any team.

By the way, Bone, I still remember you telling me in '96 when I turned 50 and started playing Senior ball that you said you probably would not be playing at 50! As long as it's still fun and you play with great guys, it's a great game!

Your long-time friend,

Leapin' Larry - Double L10 - Long time no hear. How's Pam? Jiminy christmas, you're in the over 60's? Now I'm feeling really old. :) Great to hear from you. When did you move to TX? I'll be looking for you at the nationals this year. Take care.

T-Rex - thanks for the kind words. Were you with Angle/Damon's last year? If so, congrats on the big win!

It's been a nice yr off, but look forward to seeing you all again somewhere this summer....Maybe the Senior Classic in Charleston Apr 12-15????

Lecak - thx for the tip.

TBone-Pam is just fine; we're both considering retirement in the next couple of years, finally! We moved to Houston in 2000; we were relocated from Mobil after the merger took place - we willingly moved since Pam's entire family is up in Oklahoma City. It sure does not seem like 7 years, though. It seems like yesterday we patrolled the left side of the outfield with the Goose, Zoom, Murph, Chicken, et. al. on our team! Remember, we did get a chance to say hello in Manassas a couple of years ago when you first turned 50? Time does fly by, my friend.

You will find that a few of the "old timers" we played with visit this site. It is the best site for info on Senior Softball.

Take care,

LL

T-Bone, there are some major plus teams (which is where you should be playing) in adjoining states and I'm sure you'll be contacted once they find out about your situation. Once I find out what tournaments we (Richmond, VA) can pick up a player you can bet we'll be teammates again.
T-Rex, T-bone's been a nomad for over a year and I was hoping he would end up back here. Anyway, hope you are doing well and staying out of trouble.
Larry, how is life in God's country? Say hello to Pam for me.

Steve-
Life is good in God's country! I was hitting yesterday afternoon in shorts and T-shirt! We're in the 70's all week now and we're enjoying Spring.

How are things going in VA? Who are you playing with this year?

Hope to see you on the "tourney trail"!

Larry, I'm playing with a team from Richmond (Goodman Builders). Should be a decent team with players from Richmond and the VA Beach area. Just had my 4th shoulder surgery (left shoulder) back in Dec and being hard headed as I am, may have hurt it again during my rehab. However, I have my health, a great wife, and my harley so life if good! Take care and I look forward to seeing you and Pam at a tournament this year.

ProudTex/DoubleL - nice to see you two kissing up again. Good thing you're both married to great ladies, otherwise I'd be wondering. See you all later this summer on a softball field somewhere!

T-Rex-
Knowing you as I do, if you get down to FL you'll wind up playing with Ed Rose and those guys in the FL Half Century League. There is a lot of good softball competition in the Sunshine State (and I live in TEXAS).
I did have the opportunity to play in the League a few years ago with some of the OLD Orange Crush guys (Rose, Max Reed, etc.). A LOT of fun.

Good luck with the art business. BTW, please let everyone know where your restaurant is located so we can be sure to stop by while visiting.
