April 22, 2007 CAT 200 posts | Past Weekend - Cols., Ohio This past weekend had wonderful weather and brought together many ole friends . Those teams in the Midwest that needed a "spruce up" before the tourn. circuit really missed a good time. Rumor has it that another tourn. is planned in the fall to prepare the teams for their appropraite World tourns. out West. Would only be a one day tourn. Please submit you suggestions of dates. A special thanks to Stafford sales, Schones, Metro Stars, Dayton Legends, and Dave C. with the Central Ohio 50s. |
April 23, 2007 OLDBUCK23 Men's 60 62 posts | Thanks, CAT. It was a great day for softball. Pete Shaw sent us some of that Florida weather that he promised earlier this year. The competition was great, but the comraderie was even better. All teams played three games with an option for a fourth. The Trump NSA 44/400's just flew of the Mikens and Combats as evidenced by Stafford Sales victory over Schone's 35-28 .. In their next game Schone's was tied 17-17 with Louisville Metro Stars after 6 innings. Schone's then posted 27 runs in the top of the 7th en route to a 44-24 victory. Teams were experimenting with their rosters as part of the premise of this Spring Training get together. Still, the level of play was high. My thanks to the participating teams: Schone's, Dayton Legends, Staffod Sales, Louisville Metro Stars, and our 10 man squad, the Central Ohio 50's. I'd like to do this again in October to get ready for the winter tournaments, either in Columbus or in another midwestern city. Dave Cowgill, TD Central Ohio 50's |
