Rich, Timmy usually does tournament brackets on Thursdays, but that being said, he wants to try to do it Wednesday because of the number of games involved. He will give me the complete list of teams Tuesday, and I will check the ratings and group them depending on what he has. He usually has a team enter on Wednesday which he always fits in. I know that there were ten 50+ teams on Tuesday night, and I would guess after looking at the last couple of years that half are Major or Major Plus with the rest consisting of mostly AAA with a couple of AA. I did not see the team list, but I know a few of the teams that are in it because they told me they were. I will ask him if he can post the schedule on his website because he has more control of that. What he usually does is have the coach call the evening of the draw to get the start times. Like I said he does this tournament just a little different in scheduling because there are so many more games per team than his usual tournaments.

What's up, Doc? I thought that you were me when I am bad. I keep looking for you on Tuesdays at Midwest. Mert is also starting the Wednesday morning league for seniors at Avon again.

Nancy,
I'm told all games will be played on Saturday and Sunday only. Is that true?

Yes, all games will be on Saturday and Sunday.

Rich, as of right now there are eight Major/Major Plus teams in your division. I was surprised because this was without a lot of the regulars from Michigan. I always like watching Pine Knob and Motown; so I was disappointed not to see them in it.

Nancy...should be a great tourney....is it too early to call for the draw? (11 am Indy time)...I see that on Tim's webpage that all adult tournaments this year at Midwest would be "bring your own ball". I am assuming that is not the case for this weekend?

Rich, Timmy will be starting on the brackets in a few hours and will hopefully have them done by 6:00 PM. Usually a team wants in on Wednesday afternoon, and he always tries to accomodate them. The senior tournament is the only adult one that he provides the balls for. Age should get you something, right?

Well, Stick, this is sort of funny/odd. I was just about to pick up the phone to call Midwest, and they called me. In the mail were two checks for entry, and one of them was for Motown. So he is adding them into the brackets. This is probably why he does not put the brackets online. There will be 10 teams in that bracket. It should be fun to watch. I am glad that Motown is coming down.

P. S. If managers do not have their start time, they need to call 317-875-8833 x0. This number is also the rainout number, but the weather report looks pretty good for this weekend.

Stick8, yes, all games are being played at Midwest. I am really glad your team is in it. I remember when there were only ten teams total in the tournament, and our AA team had the pleasure of playing Motown. I do have a question about a Michigan team if you want to call me 317-510-6310.

Midwest is looking for the coaches from Motown and Coors Light to get their game times at 317-875-8833 x0.

Thanks, and good luck to all.

I'm sure nobody wants to drive this far to play in slop and run the chance of getting hurt. Plus, laying out the travel money. I know a lot of people that are leaving by noon CST. Make a call one way or another. Lazer Larry Coors Light ,but i like it hot and dry.See you all in about 6 hours.

Well, the phone has been ringing all morning, and hopefully everyone's questions are answered until tomorrow; if not, please let me know. The Minimarathon is in the morning; so everyone will want to avoid downtown then. Also be aware that there is a Super 70 project on the east side of Indianapolis which could delay you if you are coming from there. If you have a trailer or go over 45 (or a semi for our truck driving friend), they will ticket you. I 465 might be a better choice.

Wes, they will update the message at 6:00 AM on 317-875-8833 x1. Tim has an excellent grounds crew, and the diamonds are a little too dry now; so a little rain will not hurt them.

Corky, it is SSWC (SSUSA) sanctioned, and we are using NSA umpires. Your coach was with Tim for a long time last night. I don't make up the brackets, but I am pretty disappointed in whatever was done to make your games run like that. I know the only note that we had on the bracket was to have the two local teams play on Sunday instead of Saturday, and it did not happen either. Tim would be glad to talk with you tomorrow if you like.
