WOW!!! This is awesome. This sure makes it easier to book hotels clser to the actual park you are playng at and not have to worry about booking 2 or 3 hotels in hopes of getting 1 close to the complex you will be playing at. This should make it easier for everybody. THANKS!!!!!

Yea this is great, 2 years ago we had quite a ride to Victory
Lane. If we stay at the same place as 2 years ago we will be 3 miles from Papago.

Thanks SSUSA

Thanks USSUSA, what did we do to deserve Desert West for the 50AA. I hope were not playing at nite on Fri, or Sat I don't wanna hear the gun shots from the neighborhoods north and south of the park. If we are playing at nite i'll have to bring my bullit proof vest just in case!!!!!

Keep a eye on your cars, morning, noon, and nite, especially nite, and leave everthing of any value at the hotel room or put it out of site in your trunk.

Make sure your life insurance policy is up to date!!!!!!!!

I played a seifman tourney in january 2007 there and between 2pm and 3pm there were gun shots from south of the park and it was still day lite. We out of there by 4pm and our way to vic lane, yaaaa, and our cars were still there!!!!!!

turn2- We've played at one time or another in every Phoenix park and Desert West isn't in the best of the neighborhoods, but it's not a lot different from any other place after dark. LB12 is exaggerating a bit, and he'll probably have problems if he brings a Porsche or a Ferrari! :) Just be smart like you would any other place. Lock the car and don't have items of value visible. You'll have fun playing ball. The fields are very nice and you won't have any problems if you don't invite them. That's true just about everywhere.

The key phrase there "one time or another" which means once maybe, maybe twice a year but i'm guessing once a year. I played at desert west over years more times then i really wanted to but thats where the sponser put us in and thats where the tourney was, and now I don't have to thanks to rose moffert and vic lane. When is the last time you heard gun shots at vic lane(never) or papago(never), rose moffert(never) after dark?? I played at those 3 parks most of my career and never heard shots. The only park i've played at that i've heard shots at is desert west and more times then i can count. So don't say it happens at all the parks because it doesn't. Cars getting broken into thats a different story, thats happens at moffert, papago alot but hardly ever at vic lane. I can't remember the last time i heard of a car getting broken into at vic lane. I was at moffert last monday nite and two cars were broken into.

LB12- You probably do play at all the Phoenix places more than us folks from Tucson. But all I was saying was that things will more than likely be okay so long as people take proper precutions as they should anywhere. You seem more interested in creating some sort of panic or maybe expressing frustration at not being somewhere else for the tournament, or both. In looking back at 2005 when ssusa was in Phoenix, they appear to be moving groups around away from where they played the last time. That's a good thing. Not everyone can play at Victory Lane every day, in fact, it looks like it's only being used one day.

I'm a Phoenix Police Detective, and there is no problem with Desert West. I'd probably worry more at Cesar Chavez! And most of the fields in Vegas are in much worse neighborhoods than the fields listed for this tournament.

DGuy, I tell it like I see it, don't sugar coat anything. If you don't like it to bad. Ya I would love to play someplace else then desert west. Driveing to papgo wouldn't bother me in the least if it means we don't have to play at desert west, and I live at union hills and the arrowhead area.

Dbax, were not playing in vegas remember, were in "PHOENIX". We'll deal w/vegas parks another day. If your talking about lorrenze park I agree. As for chavez never been there, hopefully never will, but have heard some stories!!!!

turn2, there is a bunch of hotels along the I10 on the north side of the road starting at about 75th ave and going west. If you wanna drive alittle further west on I10 there a few of hotels in the avondale area, dysart, and litchfield road area. Dysart road is approx 131st ave and desert west is on 67th ave just north of the freeway(I10), easy drive from the avondale area all freeway.
