Brickyard Classic
It was definitely a wonderful weekend for softball in Indy. All of the bad weather stayed far away from Midwest. I should have the results back from Midwest sometime tomorrow to report, and despite a few bumps I think that everyone had a pretty good time. The most interesting tournament had to be the 50 Upper (50/55 Major/Major Plus). Since there were ten teams, Tim split it into two brackets. There was not a single team that won or lost all of their games; so it was very even, and the competition was great.

This was the final Brickyard Classic to be held at Midwest. Tim has bought another park which he is rebuilding, and he wants to keep this tournament going. He said that it was the players that he talked to that led him to this decision. Coachie and I will help him any way that we can to keep senior softball here.

Nancy,is there any way this tournament could be moved to a week later.I know of at least 4 teams here in Louisville that would have played this year but have a problem getting enough players for 1st weekend in May due to the Derby. It hurts not being able to play in Indy becase its so close & always a great touney . THANKS

John Bob, we sure missed you guys this year, but I heard that you are alive and well and playing in the Tuesday league down south. I would guess that for a smaller complex that Tim might have to split weekends. He had several 65 teams go in and tell him that they would play there during the week; so he could probably do the rest in two weekends (different weekends for different age groups). I know that the Major/Major Plus was almost a third of the tournament; so maybe them one weekend and the others another. I will pass your message onto Tim, and he and SSWC can work out the details.
