2004 Columbus ,Indiana SPA Tourney teams,50+
Nancy, here is the list of teams, that are playing in the 50 Division this weekend, they will play 3 seed games and then will split into gold and silver divisions on Sunday and play a double elimanation tourney, with 5 teams in each one.
Here are the teams as I was told yesterday and thier ratings and what they should be rated.
1.Indiana Classics AAA
2.Metro Stars-Louisville, Ky, rated Major, probably high AAA
3, Indy Fog- AA
4,OG'S-Louisville, Ky- AA+
5. Brickyard Bombers, rated AA, a strong AAA team.
6. Zefflin- Louisville, Ky, AA +,close to AAA.
7,Indy Knights, AA
8. Mandells ?? out of St.Louis I believe AA, should be hight AAA. we beat them last year.
9. Drake tires, know nothing about them, probabaly some of team playing under another name, never heard the name before.
10. Dayton,Ohio Legends, rated AA, should be AAA, close to Major.

Looks like it will be a good tourney again this weekend, this is one of the better qualiers in the Midwest , as are all SPA tourneys on the whole, we play you Nancy, The Indy Fog at 1pm Saturday, see you there, Rabbit, coach of the Indiana Classics AAA 50+

Thanks, Rabbit. You saved me another phone call. It will be interesting to see how it goes on the divisions. I definitely would like to watch the game against Metro and Dayton. I think that Dayton is doing very well for being "new" last year. They also had a 55+ team at Midwest. I wish that they were not having their tournament on July 4 weekend because our guys just won't play on the holiday weekend. It is a shame when it is so close, and Bill and I went to visit it last year. It is a nice little complex, and I hope that they draw more teams this year. Good luck this weekend.

Hi,since you asked, you must be close to Columbus, the tourney will be played in Lincoln Park, which is across from the Forest Fair Mall, on 25th street or as some know it as State Hwy 46, they have 6 diamonds at this location, on Friday they will be playing the 55, 60 and 65's seeding games and should finish up by noon on Saturday, then the 50's take over, please stop by, you will see some good games,

Rabbit, that's a pretty good evaluation of the teams in the tournament. Maybe you should help in the overall rating system. We are looking forward to playing this weekend. We are still rated major but have appealed to AAA. We have lost six good players from last years team and our record this year is 4 and 8 and three of those wins are in a 35 and over rec league. We have lost to Zepplin and OG's this year in our league. Both of those teams have improved. Right now we are not even a good AA team. Maybe we will break out this weekend. I did hear a rumor that there is a pickup team in the tournament with major and major + players whose teams could not get in but I have no proof. Ggood luck this weekend and I'll see you around.

Thanks for the compliment, Tom, I also believe that one team is part of the Indiana Legends and Riverside, but I dont really know for sure, like you said, just a rumor, doesnt really matter to me, They still have to hit and catch the ball, which sometimes they do neither, Dwain would not let either team in for this weekend,so I guess we will find out Saturday, maybe Friday, I am going over and watch some of my buddys that play in 55 and 60 divisions, I only live 30 miles away in Greensburg and as you know I have been retired for 6 years ( retired when I was 50),so it makes it nice to come and go, see you Saturday and good luck, hope to meet you in the championship game only, Rabbit

The SPA tourney in Coulmbus was called on account of rain today, The 70's and 65's did get finished, but not all of the 60's did, as far as the 55's and 50's they never even got started. The tourney has been rescheduled for June 26 and June 27 at same location, see you all then if you can make it, Rabbit
