breaking up teams
I understand the so called reasons for moving teams up, Should a team be forced to move up because they had a good weekend and won a tournament? What do you think? If youhave a solid team, you are forced to break it up in order to be able to compete. If you have a group of players who are base hitters, should they be forced to move up into the 6 home run Major or Major+ division? I think the teams that are consistently hitting home runs for outs should be made to move up. Maybe the committe should monitor how a team won as opposed to who won? This could be the reason tournaments participation is low....too many teams having to disband in order to compete.

How many other “good weekends” have you had? I can’t believe that you only won one tournament and were moved up. Moreover, if you win most of your games you SHOULD be moved up. You also seem to equate competing with winning. Maybe the other teams in your class say they can’t compete with you because you win most of the games. What really blows me away is that you would contemplate breaking up your successful team just so you wouldn’t have to ‘compete” at the major level. I’m curious. Are you consistently beating the teams that hit the homers out that you think should be moved up?

Here is what SSUSA has posted:
Winning Teams Moving up in Ratings for 2007

These teams won first place (in divisions of 4 or more teams) in one of the 10 National Association final championships last year. (There is no appeal for teams that competed in divisions of 4 or more teams for the 2007 Season. Teams are considered the same team regardless of name if they retain 5 or more players from the winning team – even if the team “ages up”). Team Rosters will be posted on this Summit website as they become available from member Summit organizations. Teams winning the Huntsman Games do not automatically move up because the association allows open rosters.

Then a list of teams was also listed.

Ken: Just to answer your statement, like I said "A" good weekend we won ONE (1), tournament 3 years ago...the previous TWO (2) years we won "NONE" (0). Since being forced to move up, we are constantly out homered and we have yet to play 500 in any tournament of 4 or more teams for the last 3 years. We have essentially the same team that we started with. We have moved up in AGE but still have to play in an higher level. All because of 1 good weekend. No wonder teams end up breaking up!!!!

Well, if it wasn’t a national level tournament, it sounds like you have a beef. What did they say when you asked them the reason for the move?
