Aug. 16, 2007 azsenior 92 posts | Best fields for local leagues ??? What are the best fields you have played on for a local rec league. No BLD or fancy city parks but just the commiunty fields maintained by hardworking seniors in the area. |
Aug. 17, 2007 GT Men's 60 162 posts | Without a doubt, the two fields at Bayland Park, Houston, Texas, maintained by members ot the Harris County Senior Softball League. A great mixture on the infields, sprinklers in the infield and outfield. Haven't found anything as good as these and thanks to all the guys who maintain them. GT |
Aug. 17, 2007 TexasTransplant Men's 70 516 posts | I'll second what GT just posted. They have an excellent facility. What he didn't say is that he is a key part of the organization that maintains those fields. Any good tournaments coming up this fall, Greg? |
Aug. 17, 2007 DoubleL10 Men's 70 905 posts | GT and Texas Transplant are right on! I've played in many National tournaments where the fields are not as nice. The ONLY negative is the sun on the big field is right in the 3rd baseman and left fielders' eyes for the first game (6:30). The fields themselves are excellent and show a lot of diligence and hard work by volunteer league members. |
