NSA West
Is anyone coming to play in the NSA Western World Series at Rainbow Fields in Modesto CA, Sept 8-9? So far only only local teams have signed up, (2) 50 teams, (2) 55 teams, (7) 60 teams and (2) 65 teams.

Don,
Alot of teams are going to Turlock which is the same weekend.

Hi Scott
The NSA website indicates that there are (2) 60 AAA teams (Animals and Mustangs) (3) 60 Major teams, Nor Cal Merchants, Califoenia Starzz and Wildwood West Outlaws, the Farm was listed last week , but not today. The 60 M+ has only the Old A's. The only 55 teams listed are the 55 Animals (major) and MTC 55 (major plus). The Sportsmans are now listed in the 50 AAA. I'm not sure what is happening to the rest of the entries, if any. Yesterday I got a call from Rick of last years SSUSA 50AAA Worlds Champions, Four Seasons from Washington, He said they entered the NSA West but has not received confirmation or even a reply from his repeated phone calls to the NSA State Director and this team is not listed either. The NSA needs to look a little deeper into Senior Softball in the West and improve it. It looks like Carl and the SSSA /NCSSA has shown big Leagues that the little guys still have local clout. (23 teams, 15 miles from the NSA venue, on the same weekend0

We (Sportsman), seem to be the only 50 AAA team listed. We have been trying to get some sort of answer from Chris for a week now as to whether we will play. Any 50 AAA not listed but going?

I thought the Blasters were in there, but they are a 55 team I think as are the Blackhawks I mentioned above,
Chris told be they were in, but perhaps not getting the $$ to date means no post either.
Bad way to run a scheduling though imo, to much hunting to find anything you need for information.
And with no schedule out one day before the event, give us all a break.
Could be much better, like these (SSUSA) are.
But SSUSA lacks the player ratings that they do have.
NSa is, for me, hard top figure where your team or how it;s rated since they include an 'other' catagory....

Was the Bar area Suypporters not Blasters,
But with 16 divisions, maybe 3, having more than one team, there should be alot of winners for thir bracket, lol.
Not a good showing for a "major" assn.

Just for anyone's information, there is a big tournament in Paso Robles the same weekend. It is an ivitational tournament only. I think that depleted the number of teams at the Modesto tournament.

Please post a link, for the times and all.
I can only find a team listing link, which is not user friendly to find anything. One has to click on each seperate bracket and scroll down to find the team(s) entered if any.
Bad site set up for an assn.
As for the Paso tourney, I don't think it was an invitational.
It's been listed on the ASA site from the beginning. It does have a good team turn out.

Tait,

The Paso Robles tourney may been listed all year, but only teams that finished 1st or 2nd in one of their previous tourneys were asked to participate. At least that is what the director has stated. They may have asked a 3rd place finisher, if a team was needed.

NSA Schedule for Saturday: The parity is not there, however these are just pool play games. Good Luck to Ernie and the Black Hawks, Sunday may be better! Don't know what happened to the Bay Supporters and The Farm.

As It's 6am today the page was removed. Can't get anything.
Or they are adding Sundays sched. Maybe even Thurs Fridays.
Either IMO it's a lousy way to build a web site.

The Bay Supporters will not be at NSA West. Several emails/phone
messages were not returned by Chris Meyers. Heard at NCSSA
Championships that event was cancelled.
