| Aug. 29, 2007 pete88 Men's 50 46 posts | Legal bats for the Huntsman? Could someone enlighten me on what bats will be legal for the Huntsman games in October? Last year (my first senior tournament), I was informed that my Miken Freak was not allowed. Was that correct? It has a 2000 ASA stamp, and a USSSA 1.20 bpf stamp. I know the U2's weren't allowed. Thanks. |
| Aug. 29, 2007 taits Men's 65 4000 posts | Last year was strange. Huntsman is primarily NSA. But we were able to use those bats. The Miken rep, Corky, was also here, selling bats.... Havent heard that we would not be able to use either this year. At least your not far from there. |
| Aug. 29, 2007 Bill in Sac Men's 70 31 posts | pete88 The Huntsman web site shows that all bats with the 1.20 bpf standard will be allowed(U-2 will be allowed). It is no longer a NSA tournament. It is now a NASP tourn(National Association of Softball Players) Their rules will govern play. |
| Aug. 29, 2007 mad dog Men's 60 3803 posts | they basically use the USSSA bat list, minus the freak.miken didn't want to submit a bat that was no longer in production for NSA tech.all the others are GTG for miken, sands the ultra's.i personally will use a senior combat hopefully. |
| Aug. 29, 2007 mad dog Men's 60 3803 posts | ok bill i must have been posting while u were.had heard a rumor but don't like passing them on(rumors), but(oh well i'll pass one on) also have heard that ASsA dropping the grandfather clause (= no more freak and syn-2)is not set in stone yet??? |
| Aug. 31, 2007 Maj + player 16 posts | Taits, the freak was not legal last year at the huntsman games, nsa rules. the freak 98 and plus were legal. i umpired the tourney and if you used yours, you got away with it. i know that several players were ejected for just stepping into the batters box with the org. freak. |
| Sept. 1, 2007 taits Men's 65 4000 posts | Maj+, Personally I didn't use a Freak ,onyl a Virus and U-2, but did see them (2 of them) used. One at Bloomington and at thje new one across the the hwy from there, one up on the hill. Not sure how often but at least once while I watched games there. |
