Aug. 9, 2004 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | The only classifications they had was AAA and Major. Doc's placed second and an Indiana team (I don't know their name) placed 1st in 50+ AAA. I think Thermco and Kelly's were battling it out in the 50+ Major when I left. In 55+ AAA, Alabama 55's placed 2nd and W.E. Ruth placed 1st. I think the Matadors won the 55+ Major. Maybe someone else will comfirm these. Btw, it sure was great hitting the 47/525 balls again!! |
Aug. 9, 2004 Senior11 9 posts | THERMCO did win the 50+ division in Panam City. THERMCO won the winners bracket final then Kelly's elimated Florida Crush in the losers bracket final. Kelly's beat THERMCO to force the "if" game, which THERMCO won. I couldn't agree more about hitting a good softball for a change. Also playing a full game with no 5 run innings and no time limits!. Too bad other organizations (SPA/NSA) couldn't take a look at the USSA rules and follow suit. From the talk I heard, most players like this format a 100% better and we are the ones playing. |

Aug. 13, 2004 Nancy Allen Men's 55 1438 posts | The only correction that I know of is that it is Direct Hire Legends with a lot of our friends from Indy. Although Direct Hit is not a bad name for a softball team, but FOG is my favorite of course. We played a team in Las Vegas that was called Runner Blue because that is what they yell for at first base which I also liked. |
