Stonedog, I think that RIK56's question was asking for the date of the SPA for the 50 Major and Major Plus Nationals. I was assuming (you know what that means) that he meant the nationals.
I don't think SPA has announced to the public the date and location. Rumor has it that it may still be in KC, Mo., may be the same weekend as 2007. We'll just have to wait for their announcement.
See you at Classic Spring Training.

If I remember right at last years mgr meeting they had a 2 or 3 yr commitment to Dalton Ga. I don't remember which.

I though Dalton was a great place for the tournament. The only problem was getting there.

Fred, last year the Major and Major Plus divisions were held in KC and the AAA and AA divisions were held in Dalton.
Dalton sure would be convienent for me if they were to hold the Major Plus tournament there!

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they split them.

Dalton had good hotels and any kind of restaurant you wanted on the other side of the highway. The also had great fields except for the sun for the early morning games and late PM games for some of the fields.

I think that if I ever moved south that is where I want to go.

Ridge told me that there is no way that the M & M+ will be in KC in '08. This was right after we were there in July. He must have changed his mind.
I personally liked it there, lots of good eateries, hotels, etc. and the complex was real nice as well.

Ridge told me essentially the same as BW when we were finishing up in KC.
It takes more than good eateries, hotels and a nice complex. The $ plays a big part.
I heard that he got a great deal at Dalton.

You will love it in Dalton. Like I said the only problem is getting there. There are no direct flights to Chattanooga which is about 35 min away. There are direct to Atlantic but then you have about a 2 hr drive to Dalton.

Mad dog: I hope to get there this year. Our sponsor is battling cancer so I am not sure what the status of our team is right now.

I would like to put together my own 70 team but it is very hard around here to get players to travel.

E-mailed the SPA office on monday and was told final site for worlds was NOT decided on yet. They were hoping Ridge would have plans finalized by end of this week or early next.

I see that SPA has published the dates for their Nationals. Most Major and Major Plus will be July 18-20. The 50+ and 50+ AA and AAA will be Sept 11-14 and the 55+ AA and AAA will be Sept 18-21.
You should check their website for other age groups and divisions.
They still haven't published locations for any division.

SPA has now published the location for their nationals for all classes and divisions except for 50, 55, and 60 Major and Major Plus. Dalton Ga, again. I'm still waiting for the location for 50, 55, and 60 Major and Major Plus.
