News on NCSSA joining SSUSA
The vote to move from ASA to SSUSA rules was last Dec. That was sweet.
I can't help but wonder where the team total came from. If old defunct teams, no longer playing together not listed in the current team listing or ratings counts, then it might be accurate. Otherwise the number is 105-107, (Teams listed-Ranked teams) not the 150.
I would like to know if this "signing" on means their rules that differ are to be changed to be in line with SSUSA's rules. The vast majority are, but some are totally different. Two are; sliding. They use run throug, &. Mat size is different. If they are to be in line, is a time frame in place, or are they allowed to keep those which are different, intact?
Some were planned to be changed next year to be in line, but not all were.
It's a good move for both assn's.

Bones,
Thanks for the note.
To date they (NCSSA) are still using the run-through. This may change next year, but I doubt it. It was voted on and rejected at the one and only meeting they hold for rules changes each year in Dec., usually a first weekend date. I rarely miss one. Only managers or their reps are allowed to vote. At least that is what they say. Does not hold water either way. In the past, I carried two written proxies from 2 other teams as well as having my own vote for my own team and was only allowed 1 vote.
Still a good assn, just a lot of, as the saying goes old wood there.
Input is used and talked about at the meeting and occasionally voted upon. So in effect player input is considered in a 'public' forum.
Unfortunately not all teams are represented, only about half.
Hope to meet ya on a field again, I'd like to play against Gusto one more time.
