New Senior bat.
I just hit the new senior 30 ounce FL Combat from Anaconda. It is like the Gear bat from Combat only with the senior shell. I have the 13 inch model and I am going to get the 10 inch model very soon. The end loaded model has a nice end load and with this end load the bat swings really nice.

I have around 150 swings on it as of today and I expect it to take another 150 swings to get hot. Even as new and stiff as it is the bat was still hitting the ball out of the baseball field we practice on without any trouble into the wind.

The balls used were a mix of 44/375 and 47/525. These softballs are 3 years old and we keep them in the cars because they are bp softballs. The field is 325 down the lines and 385 to the power alleys. It was in the upper 80's today with a 15 to 20 mph wind blowing in from left. At first we hit a bunch of linedrives but after awhile we started hitting the ball up and they started to fly.

The bat has a yellow barrel and white handle. If you buy the bat and give it time to break in you will be very happy. I am told the durability on this bat is very good. Some who have tested this bat have put 3000+ swings on one bat.

Hey Walk,
I traded for one of those 30 oz FL Combats
and it hits decent balls very well.

Joe,
I have found that for me the Combats hit any of the balls out just as good as any senior bats. I love the end load and it fits my swing very well.

I was referring to the lesser balls in my bag.
Ones that have been hit too much or just weren't any good
at the beginning like some Worth Gold dots.

Hey Walk,
I love my Combat because it's a great bat.
In fact, I have 2.
Sounds like you're doing some work with/for Kevin.
Cool if you are.

Any idea when they will be available to the public? Another question, are they an Anaconda exclusive bat?

Joe,
Kevin is a very good friend of mine but I am not working for him. I have just been lucky enough he picked me to help him with the testing of the softballs. In talking to him about the balls he told me about the new bats and since I love the senior Combats I bought a couple of the new ones when they came in.

I will say this Kevin is one of the best and most honest person I have ever met. He is a very good friend who has helped me out more than anyone will ever know. But with that said I would not talk good or bad about a product just because Kevin is making it. I am just telling how the products I have tested and bought are performing.

Now I let some guys use the bat last night in our senior league and it started breaking in. Everyone was very happy with the performance and I believe Kevin will have a few orders from some KC after this weekend.

Please tell me more about the new bat. What does it look like, what weight does it come in, and what’s the cost? Where can I get more info on the bat?

I already own a Original Combat and would be very interested in getting my hands on one of these new bats. When will they be up for sale?

I assume it comes in the same weights as the senior
Combat but you would have to call Kevin at Anaconda 1-800-327-0074 ext 210 for that information and cost.

The bat is yellow and white.

I spoke with Kevin today and he informed me you had a new combat. How do you like it versus the gray combat balanced. I have a 26 gray and was planning to purchase another for Utah. I’m interested in this model. Could you give me a call 209 617-2824,

Kevin,
Wished that the new combats will come out soon, so those of us without connections will be able to purchase them. I have broken 2 of my grays and now, I am down to 2 bats. I only use the combat.

I just ordered one from Kevin. He said for the first batch they only made 26, 27, 28 and 30 endladed. The next batch will be balanced and endloaded of all weights.

I hit mine this weekend. A little stiff for the first 25 swings, then loosened considerably. I normally swing a 29oz end load, because 10" barrel, I dropped to 28oz. Right move. My first impression, this is going to be a real good bat. I hit the same balls we hit in Tulsa and it was hot so the ball was not flying. After pitching baseballs for an hour, my son pitched to me. My last ball went 340 on a line. Total swings on the bat 65. I will hit again a couple times this week and will post a follow-up.

Softball4B, I swing a 29el Sr Combat. I ordered a 30el Gear Sr Combat. I was hesitant to go to a 28el as I wasn't happy at all with a 28 U2. I hope I made the right decision. Maybe I'll receive my Sr Gear before I leave for PC this Thursday.

I got a chance to swing the new yellow Sr. Combat tonight.I believe it was a 28 oz.. I have never used a Combat bat before. The bat was new, not even broken in yet and the ball was jumping off of the bat. Once it gets broken in it will be very hot. My guess is you will see alot of these this year in Phoenix.

I have a few of the new Macenko senior combats. The wholesale price has increased dramatically but I will sell these few I have for $199 to get them into circulation. The sweet spot seemes to be larger with the new gear technology . The vibrations are smoother, you cant feel the impact as much. Call me if you are interested. There werent very many of them made and I'm very lucky to have a few. The name Macenko, Anaconda and senior combat just seem to go together very nicely.

I promised to fill you in on my experience with the new Senior Gear Combat (aka Mike Macenko model). I didn't find to be as stiff as I had been told... used mostly 44/375 Trump Stote balls, took 90 swings, 85 degrees... it had minimal shock transmitted through the barrel... compared it to a gray Combat (same weight, etc.) that had 150 swings on it... it already feels as good as the gray one.
I won't bore you with the distance... partly out of modesty and partly because I didn't measure any of them... but the shaggers have yet to be found... I'm thinking of sending a search party for them but I first need to order another one.
:-)
In all seriousness, I would receommend it for those that already use the Senior Combats. If you do buy one, hire a sherpa for your shaggers. If you don't currently use the Combat ask a friend if you can take a few swings with one. I finally dumped my Ultra 2s... all of them. For the first time in 6 years, I do not own one.
:-)

My bat has about 100 swings on it. Today in the 80's, decent, but well used BP balls. Hit 6 or 7 with U2 to get distance, we had to hit Left field to Right Field. I hit balls farther with 28oz end load Macenko than with my broken it and very good U2. Swings heavier than U2. I loved the original Combat, but this bat is supposed to be more durable. I believe it to be game ready and I will have no problem using it for the remainder of the year.

Bill in Sac, There actually is no differece in the FL and EL notations on the bats. We started with EL and got a lot of requests for XEL. We cannot endload the bat any farther and still pass 1.20 so we changed the moniker to FL or fully loaded. I still have 5 of the new Macenko ones in stock and there wont be any more for a while. One thing you guys will be disappointed in this bat, once it is broken in it will not get better. It stays right were it is for a long time.

Thanks for the up date. I was able to swing one this past weekend at BLD in Manteca. Has a nice feel, but I need the balanced model. I will be calling Kevin to pre order a 26 oz. Thanks again for the info.
