Aug. 30, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | What does the name "Three Dog Night" refer to? |
Aug. 30, 2008 The Great McGonigle Men's 50 13 posts | That's a reference as to how cold it was, and what was needed to get through the night! |
Aug. 30, 2008 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | The now-famous name came from a story about Australian aborigines who, on cold nights in the outback, sleep with their dogs for warmth. The coldest evenings are known as “three dog nights”. But the other is good. |
Aug. 30, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | The Great McGonigle is correct. Taits, thanks for the in depth explantqtion. The Great McGonigle is up. |
Sept. 1, 2008 The Great McGonigle Men's 50 13 posts | OK Dbax, in reference to your Booker T. question. Name the other 2 members of that group. They went off to join a well known band in the 70's-80's. |
Sept. 1, 2008 Lecak Men's 60 1026 posts | Dunn and Cropper, now the hard part didn't they work with Belushi and Ackroyd????? |
Sept. 1, 2008 J3 208 posts | Donald Duck Dunn and Steven Cropper were both in the Blues Brothers with Ackroyd and Belusi and they were both in Blues Brothers 2000 an inferior sequeal. There were amazingly enough in the band. |
Sept. 1, 2008 The Great McGonigle Men's 50 13 posts | You are correct. Donald "Duck" Dunn and Steve Cropper went on to fame with the Blues Brothers! Who played both kinds of music; country and western! |
Sept. 1, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Lecak edges out J3 in a close call. Joe you are at the plate. Not too hard please. |
Sept. 1, 2008 Lecak Men's 60 1026 posts | I AM THE DIRTY OF ROCK'N'ROLL TRIVIA. Ok this group was labeled the Super Cream when they first came out. |
Sept. 1, 2008 Joncon 328 posts | I'll take and educated guess at Blind Faith. Cream was my first concert BTW. I was 15 years old :) |
Sept. 1, 2008 Joncon 328 posts | Crap....AN educated guess. We need an edit feature here. |
Sept. 1, 2008 Lecak Men's 60 1026 posts | Joncon you are correct. |
Sept. 3, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Let's go Joncon. |
Sept. 5, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Where did Hendrix set his guitar on fire? What concert? |
Sept. 5, 2008 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | The 1st guitar, burnt at Hendrix's gig at London's Finsbury Astoria on March 31, 1967 & later one at the Monterey Pop festival '67 that year. Part of the one from london is at the experience in seattle . |
Sept. 5, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Scott, are you Googling????? |
Sept. 5, 2008 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | I was there last month, Seattle, they had this info on him as well as many of the other pop rock artists, clothes, records, letters. The guitar used in London all that's left is part of the box, Neck is missing. Other guitar I believe was sold off at an auction. Hendrix is from Seattle. Same building housed the Star trek stuff. All space related movies, tv, books. Including props, robots, costumes, about all you can think of. Every question on this forum can be found with searches. |
Sept. 5, 2008 stattad Men's 65 235 posts | The point is you can't search and we're suspicious that you had that date memorized! |
Sept. 5, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Ok Taits, I was looking for the Monterey Pop Festival. You are up, and no deferring! |

Sept. 5, 2008 Joncon 328 posts | Jimi Hemndrix? Is this a trick question? I'll guess Mr. Hemndrix. |

Sept. 5, 2008 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Well I know Jimi Hendrix is not his real name. So his brother is not Hendrix. |
Sept. 6, 2008 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Ok But he does have a brother, Leon, also has a step sister Janie who controls the estate. Lets go back so Joncon can do his thing now.. |
Sept. 6, 2008 Joncon 328 posts | Jimi Hendrix is not is "real" name but Hendrix is. Courtesy of the amazing Google he was born Johny Allen Hendrix and later named James Marshall by his Father, James Hendrix. I guess his siblings have been in the news lately fighting over his royaly money. And taits......take a deep breath. Go to your happy place. Written words are easy to misunderstand and one of us is obviously misunderstanding. Maybe it's me but you seem a little testy. |
