Oct. 8, 2008 SSUSA Staff 3466 posts | TRANSFER THREAD - Ratings Moves Thread transferred to keep the World Championships thread open for that topic only ... Thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------- Oct. 8 MikeC Division: Men's 55 Posts: 20 Question for all when do you get moved up a class? I noticed Michael's Force 4 is playing 60 Major after they won the SPA 60 Major division in July plus pretty much everything else they played in this year. ---------------------------------------------------------- Oct. 8 SSUSA Staff Division: Posts: 145 Teams winning one (or more) of the qualifying tournaments that result in an automatic move up in rating are reclassified after the SSUSA World Championships. Effectively, this is November 1, 2008, just prior to the commencement of the 2009 tournament season for the Winter Nationals (FL) and the Winter Worlds (NV). ---------------------------------------------------------- Oct. 8 turn2 Division: Posts: 189 When these major teams get moved up they will find a way to drop back down to major the next year. Most teams do not want to play at the highest level out there. They want to beat up on everyone in the lower divisions. Too many divisions. Thanks, Donnie Turn two ---------------------------------------------------------- |
Oct. 9, 2008 MikeC Men's 60 38 posts | I hear what you are saying but disagree with that is what you do. Two years ago we were playing in a qualifier tournament with 6 teams in it and one was a local pick up team to fill in for a team that canceled. We were winning these games easily and after the pool play and before the bracket started Terry himself came to our coach and said we are moving you up RIGHT now and for the rest of the year. This was a very weak field to say the least. Now you are saying even after winning everything all year you wait until the last tournament to move teams? I and many others will wonder if the name of the team or the sponsor for the team has more to do with movement up or down. Thanks for listening. |
