Anyone have the results from Ft. Myers?
Our team, the Ga 50's didn't make the finals and we had to leave before they began. Does anyone have the results from any of the divisions?
I would like to give props to everyone involved at the Lee County fields. The Baden balls were good, as were the umpires.
I still think that there needs to be two umpires for each game. The ones that we had did a great job but they did miss a call or two at second and first.
One suggestion would be to inform the umpires that with this format they need to know that the rr games aren't practice. They really determine which two teams make it to the finals.

Hi Bruce: We finally met in Plano this year. I don't know about Ft. Meyers but I thought I would mention Vegas and the world championships in Oct.. I played with my tourney team, the Chicago Classics 60s, and since this was our first year together, we entered the AA level. We won it all. It was really exciting. The key was all of us, except one person, all turned 60 this year. Our youth (ha-ha) really helped. We had no injuries and had fresh legs even in the finals. It was the 1st world title for every guy on the team after many 2nds, 3rds etc over the years.

Vinnie ... you wouldn't be the young pup roaming around in the outfield for the Chicago bunch would you? I "played" catcher for the Anglers. You guys were a great bunch of guys as were all the teams we played. I have to admit, it was a pleasure to be at a tourney where no one carried on or protested anything or any umpires decisons. I enjoyed our 2 games against each other. Guess it was only fitting we split the championship with all the rain and mud. You're right about it being unsafe. It was difficult to see at times. Never fails ... we haven't had much rain since the hurricanes so naturally it reared it's ugly head for the nationals. Hope to see you and your team next year. Good luck Rook. Conman

Conman, yes I was.It was sure a lot of fun playing you guys, except for the rain. You played awfully hard and hit the crap out of the ball. You showed a lot of class and that will be remembered.Look forward to seeing your team again real soon. Last but not least would like to thank who ever it was,who told us we should stick around instead of leaving after our loss to Ga50's. it worked out for us.

Vin, You're welcome. I would have hated for you fellows to find out halfway back to Chicago you qualified for the finals and then missed showing up. Now that would make for a long winter!
Don, having pitched for many years ... there is no way I would hit the middle. I'm sure we'll see each other next year down the road.
