Rule Changes - A New Thread
The BIG rule change:

"These rule changes will allow us to move up a significant number of Major teams into the Major-Plus, which we plan to do at the end of January, as well as moving more AAA teams into the Major Division."

I wonder what will happen? A "significant" number? What criteria will be used? I can hardly wait.

The rule change will increase the number of "CLASSIFIED" Major + teams but will they play without picking up players to help them compeat with the established Major + teams.
Maybe this is the plan along--- by forcing teams up they will need to add stronger players from other Major or AAA teams thus droping the numbers of those teams.
We've all seen the brackets for AAA, whole alot of teams compared to Major and Major + and by making it unatractive to play AAA if you have power.

Unfortunately in NSA and ASA there are no more of what they now refer to as elite divisions, mostly because they are a special breed compared to a lot of softball competition which is a compliment. I was at the last NSA World Series for them in Michigan City, and I do miss these divisions because this level of play is special, but the associations could no longer support this level of play for several reasons. Most of those teams now compete in the World Softball League which caters to them and their needs. NSA and ASA now have A and below as their customers. They decided that they could not do both due to the dwindling number of teams and the increased demands and costs. Hopefully this will not also happen in senior softball. Right now I believe that AAA is much more the customer base just as D is in NSA and ASA, and probably also USSSA. Let's all remember that this is supposed to be for the love of the game.

65 GROUP-- we played 65 major in DALTON AND LVSSA. IN DALTON-,we played strictly major teams that were pretty well equal. in watching the 65 MAJOR PLUS TEAMS ,they were a little stronger than the MAJOR TEAMS,but not by much. in head to head competition between 65 MAJOR AND MAJOR PLUS , giving 5 runs to the MAJOR TEAM , would really make it an equal game. IN LVSSA-- we had 3 MAJOR AND 3 MAJOR PLUS TEAM. the MAJOR TEAMS PLAYED THE MAJOR PLUS TEAM, with 5 runs given . i believe the MAJOR TEAMS won 5 of 6 games, with the eventual winner being a MAJOR team (DESERT STORM). bottom line: at the 65 level, there isnt much of a difference with 5 runs given. 6 homeruns for major plus and 5 hrs for major sounds about right. my .02c.

ADD COMMENT- in the 65 division we have : 21 MAJOR AND 13 MAJOR PLUS across the whole country, what are the chances of getting a decent tournament unless we combine.
