Team Ratings
JMO but the denial of Minnesota Greyhounds request to move down to major is a major mistake.I have no personal stake in this other than the request of fair play.Team didn't win a game against major teams last year.I don't think M+ is that desperate for teams!

Hi Ray I have a feeling the next few days we are going to have a lot of testimonials on why so and so got moved and so and so didn't. To tell you the truth it's getting time to just play some ball. It is what it is. It's March I hope your weather starts to give you guys some relief, looking forward to seeing you guys down the road. I don't think we are going to Chicago the new date was a deal breaker to close to Reno for us. We are looking at something else we'll see. I know it's spring my wife and I saw the Cubs/Whitesox preseason game today here in Vegas.

Gekle, I think they went 2 and 3 in Phoenix, and they won the SPA last year. We split with them in Phoenix, and I thought they were pretty good.

Seems like they left a few teams from the western states behind that should have made it to major plus... I'm surprised how few teams actually got moved!

I noticed a few west coast teams that fell through the crack as well. Was glad to see LV60's finally got moved up.
It will be an interesting year,
I'm sure comments will be seen soon on these that were or were not moved as well.
I do hope the goal for more equal competition and more teams to play in any given tournament becomes a reality.

Taits,

There are always going to be teams that fall through the cracks. This is not a prefect world. With all of these move-ups, these missed teams will stick out like a sore thumb, and eventually be moved up. What I do not care for, is a team that OBVIOUSLY should be moved up, and in no way, fell through the cracks. They were purposely held back. I cannot be the only one that sees these things, so I will let you guys figure this one out. I will tell you that this team is a 55 team that improved themselves for this upcoming season, and won 3-4 rings last season, including the TOC! Can we guess which team this might be? LOL! I know for a fact that they were held back, because 2 of their players told me that they were guaranteed to not move up after the new ratings came out. I did say jokingly to them, "how do you like our rings" and they just laughed. Anyway, I think the overall rating changes were good and hopefully the teams that got bumped up do not end up where they were originally, when the Phoenix Worlds begin. Have a nice day guys!

Taits,

None of the above teams is the team that I talked with. When you guess correectly, I will confirm it. I am sure over 80% of senior softball knows which team this may be and will guess correctly some time today. Try again! LOL!

Husky71, why should we have just made it. YES we had a good year, BUT we did not win a tournament, we did not get any rings, we finished 8th in Phoenix, tied for 5th at Winter Nationals, behind East Bay Oldies, Colorado Mudhens, and the champion Tucson Bandits, who we just barely beat in Salt Lake City, by coming back in the bottom of the seventh. Like I said before all this re-ranking. There were 28 teams in Phoenix, I thought the caliber was equal and any team could have won it. If you base it on what we did last year, then there should be alot of other teams moved up to Major+

and ONE more thing, the only tournament we have EVER won is the AAA in Seattle in 2006, as we have continued to get crushed by the NW LEGENDS, who got moved up to Major+ after winning at least 6 tournaments that I know of, now we are in the same classification with them again.

SlopitchRR, I agree with you that there are other teams that could/should have been pushed into M+ with or before your team. I'm with MTC 50's, so I feel your pain! You guys finished ahead of us all last year. Look forward to seeing your team at Reno, you're a fun bunch to compete with!

Husky, I think the reason they moved us is we added 2 of the Arizona Mob players to our team

Ken sorry I didn't make myself more clear,I was refering to the 50 M+ team. They were real good a couple years ago than all their players went to 55 M+ thus the drop off in rating.

Rick (2awesom) I'm going to be an optimist on this. Here's hoping some of the left behind teams in major that are capable of playing major plus struggle a bit with the new HR rule and hopefully if they see some of us having good games and tournaments maybe they will move themselves up. I can tell you from some experience that the 5 HR rule will keep scores down significantly we played in Phoenix and there were some very low scoring games from some good hitting teams.

To I believe Ray from Gekle Bldr's You know I thought they had been Major+
but was not sure. I guess for some reason they were moved back down. We played them at the NE Championships in Cape May, NJ and we had a great 3 game series. We wound up winning, but if we play them as a higher class, they win due to getting 5 runs. But anyway
I'm not saying anything negative against those guys, they are a good group of guys!
Are you guys going to Salem, VA this year again? We missed playing you guys last year there, because we stunk up the place in the Double Elim.
I am hoping you guys are, I think we could have some great games against each other. thanks rick #22

Rick,We are still trying to sort things out with ISF and Midwest tourney.SSUSA moved Midwest to same week end but, with all the new and crazy rule changes we might play more none SSUSA stuff. What team did you play for last year.We had a great time at that tourney and loved the facility.Bathrooms in the dugouts that was cool.Sweet is a good team I'm not sure way they went back down.Didn't have any trouble with to many HRS out there in Va.I like that format.

Have a great day

Rick, but you have the nicest jerseys in the game!! Seriously, I agree with you that the Four Seasons should not be moved up to Major plus without some of these other teams also moving up. Selfishly we need someone to play here in the Northwest but I think a team should not be moved up until they win some tournaments. You have a great group of guys!

Hi Ray I am one of the coaches/players on the Frederick Chev E&E Metal Fab Team. We have been moved to Major Plus for the 2009 Season.

Yes the dug-outs with Bathrooms are rather unique. I would say we will probably be playing at Salem, VA this year, but I am not sure yet. Thanks!
