Raining weekend in NorCal
WOW
Tourney this weekend was fun. Rain was fun to play in Saturday. I think everyone would have still played on Sunday. Bummer it was canceled.

Hey Jeff,
It was great to get at least
Saturday in but I wish we could have
gotten to play on Sunday, too.
Good balls, good bats, good guys,
good time.

Thanks for the comment. We tried to get the fields ready for Sun. Started at 5:30am and after the 3rd. downpour, realized we were fighting a loosing battle and finally had to give up. With players coming from as far away as 400 miles for our tourn.we try as hard as poss. Thanks to our So. Cal. friends for coming. [Fountain Valley Outlaws,So. Cal. Marauders]

I enjoyed Saturday's tournament as well. Playing in the rain was an equalizer (we would have won after five innings if the game was cancelled because of rain, and instead lost in the bottom of the seventh in the rain!).
But Sunday was a lost cause! I walked the infields—pitcher's mound and home plate under water on most fields (and I mean lots of water!); bases slick and dugouts like lakes; but worst of all was the infield—it had absorbed its maximum of water and the top 1/4 inch was soup, so that every step was an adventure! It would have been like playing on ice, not much fun and very dangerous, and certain to lead to pulled muscles if not worse. Congrats to the TD who tried to ready the fields, and even phoned some team managers to warn them of likely cancellation. The game times were shoved two hours later, but still no hope of meaningful play. It was the right decision to cancel, sad as it was for teams who came long distances (and for myself in my first 2009 tournament action).

We too were able to get 3 games in on Saturday. We gave a pair away. We still got a good workout as a team. And you’re right it is always great to meet & greet old friend and make new ones.
WOW
It was nice playing teams outside the area they're good squads. Nice try, Mother Nature usually win all her battles.

WOW,
Good turn out & brackets. Fun while it lasted.
Had you allowed playing on Sun it may have pleased some players, but had anyone become injured, you would have paid a higher price.
Soaked fields are not easy to do, the out fields hide areas of concern which cannot be seen let alone cleaned up. You made the right decision.

By any chance did anyone ever turn in that pad I lost?
See you in Folsom, if at same park.

They made the right decision. Those fields had had enough and someone would have gotten injured.

Strong turn out - it looks like another great season is upon us.

Scott - I saw you there but didn't get a chance to chat. C'ya along the way.

Wasn't sure if that was you catching for the A's or not,
so I did not say anything. There were some good games on that field.
I know Randy, Gary, Alex and now you on the team, but didn't see AC. this time around.
Maybe I'll catch you in Folsom or Turlock, my next 2 stops.

To see the Prime Time players drag the fields after every 2 games or so added quality to the Tourney, GOOD JOB.

Again, thanks for the kind words. My players try to make our tourn. one of the best and most enjoyable of the yr. Maybe that's why I fill up every yr. It also looks like we made the right decision to cancel Sun. I'm glad you guys agree!
Scott, I found your knee pad.

Thanks, Lanny.
I'll be in Folsom, then Turlock. Chances are you'll be in one or both. Will PU then. Thanks again.
