Very nice weather to play. The fences were too short in general 285'. Somebody tried to tell me there were 300', but I used my single wall 3 times and almost hit it out trying to hit a line drive. SSUSA, West Coast is not a Major Plus team, they out homered us 4-3.

Manny's knuckleball was working.

Because they are playing Major they did not respond to me, but I believe Double Nickles is playing 5/2 (Top Gun) and 5/29 (Reno).

Phil, thanks. It was a fun tournament. Good teams, and good competition.

Mike, our tentative list of tournaments for the rest of the year are:

Escondido
Reno
Santa Maria 7/5-6
Cal Cup
LVSSA
Paso Robles 9/27-28 (if no conflict with LVSSA)
Phoenix Worlds
Winter Worlds

We wanted to do the SPA, but we aren’t sponsored, so that probably won’t happen. We may throw in another here and there, but to the best of my knowledge, that is it. By the way, I got this list from Andy, so if any dates are wrong, it’s his fault. See you guys soon.

RDA,thanks for listing the results for
Oxnard. Wish more people would do the same for local tourneys.
Mike and P, playing the DoublePlay
tourney in Riverside on the 18th,one
day. Escondido,Reno-after that I'm not sure,but we're looking a SPA if they
can pull off the June touney in PS.
That's quite a field you have at
LVSSA. Good luck to both of you.
See you Thursday night. John

Ken and John, are you guys 'Double Nicols and OTE' considering playing Oxnard on June 6 & 7? It's a lot closer to L.A. and the Valley than Menifee.

It will be cooler and is closer, but come on the fences are too short. The only way I would suggest my team play there is if they made you use ASA bats.

Phil,

That's the week after Reno, and I doubt we'll get all our guys together for a back-to-back. We might be able to get a group of us from Thousand Oaks together to play in Oxnard, but they wouldn't all be 55's. It's possible.
