4-25 & 26 LVSSA 50 teams where are you
I saw the list today there was only one 50 team in all divisions showing as attending. It was a team from Prescott AZ. What happened? One 50 team in all divisions. My team was told to wait and see who was attending in case of a refund. That would be two 50 teams. I did not look at the other age groups sorry.

Vegas 50's is going, or should I say were going to play. Looks like we will have to find something else if they can't get more teams.

Bert I'm assuming since you guys are a club team your teams attendance was a given by the club. I was kind of surprised given the amount of talk about HR's as outs, PPR and so on and so on. The LVSSA has the most liberal HR rules the balls are the best and they don't use the PPR rule. Maybe the use or non use of these rules have nothing to do with each other we will see I guess. Very disappointing if only a few 50 teams show up.

Yes Joe, it is disapppointing. Maybe there will be a late rush.

Sorry Lecak, the NW Legends team from Seattle hasn't even practiced yet. We will be at the LVSSA event in October.

The Mavericks will be in Vegas. Those of you who go on here and complain about SSUSA rules should support this tournament.

Hi Dave,
You're right.
I support LVSSA in all their events as
they haven't changed to the new
disappointing rules that SSUSA have
but a lot of senior ball players
don't know that.
They/we should make it clear.
I'll be playing in the LVSSA event
in the fall and so will all of us from
NorCal and many
other teams from around the country.

I also support NCSSA where we'll
be playing by players rules
in Turlock this weekend
with 44x375 balls and all 1.2 bats
no PPR and HR's as singles.
East Bay Oldies, MTC 50's
with Tim Millett and MTC 55's, the best
55 and over team in the country,
The Old A's, 5 Spot, Advance Construction, ODB, Chubb Insurance and the Redwood City Reds and more
monster clubs will be there.
We play 1 up on the HRs and
5 run innings up to the open inning
and we'll have a blast.
And did you hear the news?
Shack is back.

I think the spring LVSSA tnmt
could catch on if they define themselves
separate from the SSUSA rules
loudly and clearly enough.

And Dave,
Gerald Hayden and I were talking about you at BP on Sunday. (good stuff)
You guys should come up and play with/against us
if you want to see the best 50-55 major plus teams in the country
but better bring a lunch.
Anyone of us can beat the Mavericks
on a given day.
And with the oncoming of talent
like Tim Millet, Shack, Joe Tang
Jerry Jue and more
we're getting stronger all the time.

NorCal/SoCal.
Hmmmmmmm.
Kenny likes the idea, too.

Say hi to Bull, Mango, Turbo and the boys for me
and especially to one of my mentors
and of the best competitors as a pitcher
in all softball, Mickey Hughes.
Ask him to send me an email
and let me know how he's doin'.

I thought the LVSSA tournament
was this weekend apparently mistakenly.
We play in Turlock this weekend and in Concord, the next.
Everything else I said still holds up,
though.

The MTC55's are pretty good, but don't forget about NCI and OLR. We might have something to say about who number 1 is. ;-)

Hi Mike is NCI in Vegas this weekend? I'm going to help work the fields I'll go over the fences and get your guys HR's. Don't know your age group that much but next year the Fangrabbers out of Arizona most likely will go 55. That will be a helluva 55 team.

Got me, Mike.
I'm a bit of a "homer" as can be seen
from time to time
but if you can walk it, you can talk it.
I'll take my California boys anytime
against any state in the union
and I'll take my NorCal guys
in any contest with you SoCal guys?
We could have some amazing contests
and realize a natural rivalry
that could bring years of fun
and great competition.
N'est-ce pas?
Good luck this year, Mike
in all your endeavors.

Mike - you will have to stop sandbagging as a Major Team in SPA first, before you can say something,he-he.
Hoping you win this one, so that Ridge will move you up for the July event. Good luck.
PS - Gary is bringing the ACAI to Turlock this weekend.

Hi Joey,
I passed your message on to Mickey. Sounds like you guys are having fun up there in NorCal. Give my regards to Gerald, Junior, Jerry and Ron. You guys should think about getting a team in Palm Springs the second weekend of May. Great town... Great weather.

The draw of Las Vegas just isn't enough anymore....

Went 3 years in a row with the same results....
- Only one umpire...that's unforgiveable in a "National"
- Many umpires did not know the senior rules or were extremely inexperienced and it showed
- Played in the dark.....the lighting was horrible and each trip games should have either been moved to a better field or cancelled till the next day
- The fields were not maintained during the games - the infield was abysmal, again especially for a "National"
-There were no scorekeepers

We really tried to give this a chance because it's Vegas....but at some point you have to be practical....

There should not be any surprise about the reduction of teams. Blame it on the economy and perhaps that's part of it, but for us....the tournament conditions are just like a local charity event, not a "National" and not even the lure of Vegas can overcome the negatives....sorry, but that's just the facts.
