| June 4, 2009 Ken Men's 55 464 posts | Dave, what happened to the games That were supposed to be scheduled at Berens Park in Elmhurst. Did you lose the fields, or just not need that many? |
| June 4, 2009 DaveDowell Men's 60 969 posts | The Berens Park fields were available Friday only and only from 8:00 AM through 2:00 PM due to pre-existing local league play ... Last games would have been 12:30 PM ... The Friday schedule fit nicely into the two geographically closest facilities, Schaumburg Olympic Park and the Itasca Softball Complex ... There are no restrictions at Olympic or Itasca for Friday or Saturday, which provides much needed relief in the event of adverse weather concerns that were present, with no backup options, the last couple of years in Champaign ... Hopefully that won't be needed! |
| June 4, 2009 MikeC Men's 55 38 posts | I know you mentioned you are working on schedules just wondering how many teams have entered the tournament? Was in Milwaukee last weekend and they had 3 55's plus threw a 60 Major team into the 55 division and then they had only 3 60's teams. Hope if numbers are down like this we don't string things out to 3 days to make money for the hotels. Not all of us 60 players are retired. |
| June 4, 2009 DaveDowell Men's 60 969 posts | MikeC ... The schedules are complete ... They are all available, along with a complete listing of the teams entered, from the Midwest Championships Tournament Page on this web site ... There are 59 total teams entered, as follows: 50's - 17 55's - 10 60's - 13 65's - 12 70's and 75's - 7 The number of teams, coupled with the field resources available, warrant the three-day event structure ... Hotel's are never a factor for me when I draft the schedules for all SSUSA events nationally ... |
| June 5, 2009 MikeC Men's 55 38 posts | Thanks Dave right after I posted I checked and they were up. Now we just have to hope for good weather. |
