July 27, 2009 TommyMass 24 posts | Thank you from the Bay State Shootout To each player, coach, manager, and sponsor; thank you for making the first Bay State Senior Shootout a success. We didn't have a lot of teams. We didn't good weather. I do hope we had a good time. Afterall, it is you the players, coaches, managers, and sponsors that make the game of softball work. The game belongs to you; without you there would be no Bay State Shootout (or any other event). There was good softball in all divisions. Most games were close. We even had two women's teams which we believe is the first time women's teams have perticipated in a qualifier in the Northeast. A special thanks to Gerry and rest of the grounds crew for getting the fields not just playable, but in pretty darn good shape after the 3.25 inches of rain we had Thursday night to Friday morning. We lost only two hours of time and no games! Once again good job! Hope to see you next season. Tommy |
July 27, 2009 SteveSimmons 66 posts | Tom, Great job and thanks for all your efforts in putting on the first ever SSWC qualifier in Massachusetts. This is the third leg of four SSWC qualifiers that will be held in the New England / New York area in 2009. The first two were the CT qualifier in May and the NY qualifier in June. The final leg will be the Rhode Island SSWC qualifier which will take place August 14-19 at Warwick City Park in Warwick, RI. With your help the Northeast has gone from an area that had no SSWC exposure to an area that will now have its own annual circuit of SSWC tournaments. Well done, Steve Simmons - SSUSA C/L National Director |
