Northern Illinois Clubs and Leagues
Elgin Area
If you’re over 40, or about to be, then the Monday night 40 and over Masters softball league at the Elgin Sports Complex is the place for you. This is a very competitive league that starts around the third week in April and ends after the playoffs in about the third week in August. This year there were practices on April 13 and 20, first game on April 27 and last game on August 3 with a single elimination tournament on August 10 and 17. There are currently seven teams with game times of 6:30 and 7:40PM played on fields #1 and #5. This league features the extra home plate, 5 runs per inning with an open last inning, a 1 and 1 count with a foul ball after two strikes a dead ball out, an unlimited arc on the pitch and base runners able to lead off after the ball leaves the pitcher’s hand. The per person fee for this league is $60 for Elgin residents and $75 for non-residents and each player receives a Tshirt in the color of your team.
Mike Millikan(847-695-2541) is the administrator of the league and you can call him for further help in becoming a member of this league. Is it ever too soon to plan for next year? No!
If you know of other clubs and leagues in the northern Illinois area please contact me with that information so that we can spread the word. Thanks
