Hitting for distance
I Would like some advise to hit for more distance I am probley hitting the ball at the wrong height. I try to connect on pitches between the waist and the chest, maybe I should try hitting lower pitches with a more upward swing . What say you power hitters

Capt, you are on the right track. Maybe you should even choose the ones that are in your eyes.
You should check out the dvds produced by Bogie, Northstar Productions, I believe. Another good source is the Swingmechanics dvds, found at swingmechanics.com.

Talk to Ken Van Bogart, Northstar productions, who is the most learned
and effective teacher about the long ball on the planet.
He also can hit a softball 500 feet and
I've seen him do it
more than once.
As some can attest
I don't/can't listen to anyone tell me about my swing.
It only screws me up but
Bogie's video
on how to increase distance
and rotational hitting showed me the critical elements of my swing for the very first time outside my own head.

The guys are absolutely correct. The video's and dvd's are the way to go. The benefits are that you'll be able to watch them over and over until you get it right. You might even then have somebody film you so you can see yourself in action and then compare your swing to what you should be doing. There's no better way to learn than to see yourself in action.

some say that hitting the long ball is a gift, some have it and some don't.Guys who hit the longball are not high percentage hitters and high percentage hitters are not longballers. For me the longball comes and goes,I can tell after the first couple swings in a tournament what going to happen that day and go with the flow.So what do u guys think?

Just, you probably should have included the word MOST or SOME before your second sentence. I know of many long ball hitters that batting averages of 700 and above. In the Southeast and East there is Gary Deaton, Pat McClellan, Matt Degenaro and Baer Chadler. There are many more that also can mash and hit for a high average.
