Hey Tim!

I do not think it matters who you are or where you are from, as long as the team has $595 for their entrance fee. Actually, LVSSA does not care that much about doing it right. I am saying this for the benfit of you 55 AAA teams attending LVSSA this year. At this time, there are about 8 Major Plus teams, 4 Major teams, and 8 55 AAA teams. The only ligitimate 55 AAA teams that have a chance to win is the Hawaii team and Joe's. Unless you have a very strong AAA team, you will not have a rats ass chance of competing against the 2 Major teams that were allowed to play in your bracket for some odd reason. Therefore, after the seeding games, AAA teams beware. If this was done correctly, there would have been 6 Major teams and 6 AAA teams. It would have been nice to have a couple of more Major teams to play, but the 4 Major teams going are excellent teams and it should be fun and very competitive. Unfortunately, it effects you teams playing AAA and LVSSA knows this, but $$$ speak!! LOL! I hope everyone has a good time.

I seem to recall them doing the same to AA teams with AAA mixed in.
But that seems to be the what it has been for 2 or more years.
Nice place to play otherwise, and would like to see the new Lorenzi park some time.

Scott,

Actually, there is a AAA playing AA that has won several ring tournaments over the years. If LVSSA did it correctly, as far as I can tell, there would have been a really nice split: 7 AA, 7 AAA, 6 Major, and 6 Major Plus. No matter how they do it, we still go. I do remember 9-10 years ago how much larger these tournaments were in the past. Vegas is fun to visit too. I will let you know how the new fields look at Lorenzi. I hear they are very nice.

Take care,

Andy

Hey Duke did you guys play in this Tournament last year in the AAA divison when you guys were a Major team already. I'm sure you won that tournamnet last year being a Major team and being drop down to AAA for some unknow reason in which I couldn't not figure out either. Maybe your right and it just comes down to money or maybe these teams are really a good AAA teams and not a very good major team.

Joe,

Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if a team wants to play up? If so, that is their decision to make.

Coach55,

You are absolutely correct, but over 95% of the teams in AAA knew we were not a AAA team and defended our position. Player board members defended us to Terry, who never replied to our appeal to this day and denied receiving it to our faces, even after I showed him a copy of an email from a board member that he acknowledged it. We never won a ring tournament in over 8 years with the same team, only small tournaments with 5 or less teams. Our guys enjoyed playing together, and did not care to bump players off to acquire a ring. We got moved up for defeating the same 2 teams, 14 of our 19 games that year, which were teams that we usually beat. We finally get a good team, and did not get a chance to win at least one ring tournament. LVSSA was our last chance to win a ring, and LVSSA was told of our situation and said they would randomly call 3-4 teams to ask them their opinion. All said that although we always defeat them, that there was no way that our team was a Major team. Even 3 SSUSA directors called up to Terry on our behalf, but no reply again. That is the short version of my story, and do not want to bore everyone with the long details.

Coach55,

To reply to your question about the 2 Major teams playing AAA, it had to be about money. One team is a very strong Major team. The other team finished 2nd to us in an "if" game in a ring tournament this year and won TOC already last year and several other rings. They are a very good team, and like us, it will take some time to adjust to the Major level, but they were doing good at some tournaments. We ultimately had to add 5 new players to compete, and I tried to other players on other teams, rather than just say good bye. I did that very successfully too. Even with the new players, it took about 4-5 months to adjust to the new level, and now we are a ligitimate Major team with not too much power, but can generate the runs, when we are hitting well. Just so you know, we were offered by LVSSA to play 50 AA, but I rejected that, because I felt we would destroy those teams. That is it for me. Good luck to all!!

To All,

OOPPSS!! A Fraudian slip, LOL!! I meant to say that over 95% of the teams and most of the SSUSA staff knew we were not a "Major" team. I wrote "AAA" team in my previous message. This is kind of like my poor directions Ken. LOL!!

Andy,
I would have guessed it was a Freudian slip. Is "Fraudian" something worse?

Jan, I would think "Fraudian" is in itself a "Freudian" slip.

Coach55:

At the time that The Double Nickel team from last year entered the LVSSA they were only rated major by SSUSA, not the other organizations. In fact, they were allowed to enter an SSUSA AAA qualifier by the tournament director, who knew they weren't a legitimate major team. The ONLY major tournament they played last year was Phoenix. By the way, I've seen the two teams play this year, and they compete very well at major. In fact, one of the teams attended the Cal Cup, and I heard more than one person comment that they thought they were "a very good team".

Kinda like the CA Blackhawks (55). Rated AAA going to play AA in Vegas. They have been on their game lately too. VG-E team. I honestly think Major soon, I was right about the move to 3A.
Not knowing the other teams in the 2 divs, I can't say much about it but do feel they would give OTE a good game or two.

andy good luck in vegas.we play u in the first game.you dont have to answer about your rating last year at all.the only problem i have is that you stay out west and question other teams who are rated aaa and are playing according to the rules.they are ranked aaa thus they are in vegas playing aaa.joe b's players are having the success this year because they play hard and with the same guys year after year.good for them.we should be patting them on the back instead of stabbing them.hawaii came in third last year behind our 2 teams when you yourself say you were a aaa team.so why would they play major this year.i wish all the teams good luck and safe playing and look forward to some great competition against some great competitors and like you wish there were more teams.have not played in one major tourney with more than 4 teams.stay safe and keep hitting jr pace #11

Jrhunch,

Glad you figured out that I was not talking about Joe's or the Hawaii team being a Major team. LOL! They should be playing for the AAA crown, not 2 well established Major teams. It will be fun to play you guys again. You, Reds, and Coyotes are all strong teams. Should be a fun weekend. Besides having all strong teams, we should have plenty of time to enjoy Vegas, since we only have 4 teams in our bracket. I am going to take a look at the fields on Thursday, and maybe take some batting practice with whatever guys are down there. Have a safe trip, and guys, please do not take out our pitcher, he is very old!! LOL!!
