| April 1, 2005 Nancy Allen Men's 55 566 posts | Bring Your Own Balls? I had a discussion the other night, and I wanted to see if anyone had a different experience than our team. The discussion was about how more tournaments are requiring teams to provide their own balls. I have seen it Kentucky for years and BASA, but in all of our travels, this has never been an issue at a senior softball tournament. Has anyone ever played a senior tournament that had this requirement? Thanks. |
| April 1, 2005 Longballr9 Men's 40 48 posts | In every association I've played in the last year, the directors have required the teams to supply backup balls. You can't blame them for this. At $25 and up per dozen, it cuts deep into the profit. And, at places like the BLD parks here in SoCal, you have to walk a long way to retreive HR balls and fouls over the fence. Often times they can't be found. I guess this will be the norm of the future. |
| April 1, 2005 BruceinGa Men's 60 2453 posts | Two years ago at the SSWC qualifier in Auburn, Al, we supplied our own 44/375 balls. I don't remember about last year. |
| April 1, 2005 turn2 482 posts | all associations should let teams hit there own balls, even if we bought them from the tournament director. i would rather buy our own balls than hit the sock balls that some associtaions supply. at least this way we could throw in new balls when ever we wanted.this way the teams could hit good balls all through the game. just my opinion. thanks, donnie turn two / rekco / county sports 55 major plus |
