When will teams be classified?
Does anyone know when the team ratings will be published? I see the the final 2004 ratings were updated July 14, 2004. When will the first 2005 be announced?

I hope the rating will be updated soon. In pool Play there are some good AA and AAA teams that are getting beat bad because the rating are not out let and they are staring to back out of tourney. In which I hope thet don't. But I understand if they do. I believe we need to look at the rating sooner for some of the New teams that are playing this year, like Sideline Grill and Southern Softball they are two very good AAA teams that are having to play Major division teams in small tourney and come up on the short end of the stick. Maybe there is some thing we can do to help. Does anyone out there in senior softball land have any throughts on this? Being a TD myself I want to be as fari as I can to all teams.

Hi Bruce and Don, I think it might be a little early to have the ratings changed for this year, we just did play our first game last Weds night and will be playing in our first tourney in Indy tommorrow, WE will be playing Major 50's at the begining of the this year, and we have to play in three tourneys before we can applyfor a rerating, and that 3rd tourney will not be till June 10th, I think my team the Indiana Classics are one of the top 5 AAA teams in the country, when we are on our game??, but I am willing to play the big boys to prove that we are, and never will be accused of playing down, one of our games Saturday will be againest Pine Knob, probably dont have much of a chance, but they wont forget us that's for sure. I hope to see you both later this year, in either NSA Cullman,Alabama or SPA in Plano, maybe you guys can come up to the Louisville tourney, it usually is a good tourney to play in, on June 4 & 5th
And the main reason I am writing you are right, there are several teams that need to be playing major ,that will only play AAA, I have been beat many time by majors, but have also beat them too, and have played close in most games, but it doesnt mean i wont get in a tourney because of that, Don I would really like to play the JH Masters sometime also, take care, Rabbit, Coach of the Indiana Classics,

This is is my fourth year in senior softball and every year up until this year there have been prelimenary ratings that came out in Feb. These ratings took into account all the teams that finished first or second in a world tournament. Why they didn't do that this year I don't know. Again I think that team managers should rate every team they see or play in the qualifiers. I have started doing this and sending my opinion to the members of the rating committee. Terry's office called and thanked me for my opinion and expressed that this was a good idea. I plan to continue for all the qualifiers we play in and I hope other managers do the same. As far as re rating teams I don't think any team that won a world tournament should be allowed to drop down to the same division at any time during the next season. The only way to keep teams in the upper divisions is to have mandatory and keep them up there. We have only played in six world tournaments but I know that in at least three of those tournaments the winning team had been dropped from the an upper division during the year. We need to attempt to classify players because I also see lots of players bouncing around from team to team so they can play in the same classification all the time. After winning a world tournament a player should have to move up to the next division for at least one year.
